The radio news says Romney isn’t running for president
Friday, January 30th, 2015Good.
Good.
Heh
Summed up in one phrase: Supreme Court.
Yeah, that about sums it up.
I don’t see that working the way they said but that’s the claim. Besides, I’d bet $100 that the Obama campaign already has the returns since they know people at the IRS.
Far from convincing interview, but Romney said he’d sign the reciprocity bill.
Jacob: While Romney’s record on the 2A is poor, he could have at least mentioned in passing the concern that many in the mainstream have that the operation was set up as a backdoor way of promoting gun control. I wonder when he and John Kerry are going to go duck hunting?
Ron Paul wins in Minnesota. Heh.
Romney has a secret breakfast the Bloomberg. One of the topics is gun control. And his court adviser is Mr. Collective right Robert Bork.
Toothpaste for president
Well, sort of. Looks like in his effort to woo the gun vote, he gave a speech at the NRA annual meeting. He wants to stand up for hunters and sportsmen. And those who want to defend themselves. He also mentioned Fast and Furious. And he cites founding fathers rhetoric. Seems he’s trying to convince […]
And he’ll speak at the NRA convention. Says Romney: “we have all the laws we need”. What about Massachusetts? Do they have too many? And how many did you sign into law?
Claims to want to defend the second amendment. Says he owns two shotguns. I’m skeptical. But if he does, I’m sure they’re the spendy kind.
He has a position statement on his site. Via Jacob, who notes It’s just words with no substance. So, it’s just like Romney?
This morning on the local vast right wing conspiracy radio affiliate I heard a couple of ads attacking Rick Santorum. Actually, it was the same ad twice. I guess it’s here.
Looks like Newt is going after Romney on guns. NRA Life Member, since 2006.
The good and bad but mostly moderate: The Truth about Mitt Romney’s Record on Guns. There’s some misinformation out there from the usual hysterical subjects on the issue. My opinion is that I wouldn’t call him a friend to gun rights but not an enemy either.
Ian: Been seeing a lot of stuff in my twitter feed and my RSS feed about how people want to “send a message” to the Republican Party, or that Romney is “just like Obama” or some other such nonsense to justify staying home on the second Tuesday in November, 2012. What are you all, out […]
I hear this often enough. If X is the candidate, we lose. You’re not framing the debate right. Because, first, who is we? And lose what? I’m sticking to my theory. Anyone could beat Obama except this crop. And, yes, I’m quite aware I can be smug and self-righteous because I live in a state […]
So, Mitt won again, just besting Ron Paul*. I guess maybe people didn’t like Newt slamming capitalism. Now, I don’t like Romney and I would jab a hot poker in my eye before voting for him. That said, shut up Newt. Don’t attack capitalism, that’s a realm of douchebaggery reserved for the left. Not good […]
I remember hearing the tales of how, right before his first presidential bid, he ran right out and got himself a life membership to the NRA. But he’s never seen gun control he didn’t like. We could hold out, I guess, since he’s had a change of heart on all kinds of other issues, right?
On the local talk radio, they were discussing Romney betting Perry during some debate and what exactly was wrong with Romney doing that. Well, there are a few things wrong with it: Romney is most assuredly lying. Such wagers are illegal Iowa But, no, that’s not what the local right wing radio was going on […]
Telling some simpleton that corporate money goes to people. But then: AUDIENCE MEMBER: You came here to listen to the people! ROMNEY: Nope, I came here to speak. Way to be a man of the people.
Hillary Clinton: “You know you may not believe it, but I’ve actually gone hunting,” she said to some surprise and laughter. “I know, you may not believe it, but it’s true. My father taught me to shoot a hundred years ago.” I actually do believe her. The reason I do believe her is that she […]
That’s the word.
I mentioned Romney stated he’d veto any gun control (including a ban on weapons that look like assault weapons). Jeff isn’t convinced: I don’t believe him. A year ago he clearly said that he supports an AWB. This is just another flip-flop for him. Now, when I pointed it out, I wasn’t saying I believed […]
Glenn and Helen have a podcast with him: he says he’ll veto any gun control bills that cross his desk as President, including a renewal of the “assault weapon” ban. That is, as Glenn notes, more than Bush ever promised.
Well, I agree with the latter . . . the former, not so much.
Over at PJM. His anti-gun stance is merely part of his nature as a liberal politician from Massachusetts. Nanny knows best, and all.
Romney: Just as the President said, he would have, he would have signed [the assault weapons ban] if it came to his desk, and so would have I. He’s also telling whoppers about NRA endorsements he received. He did not receive them, of course. And Bruce has a question for the gun grabbing governor on […]
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
