Neo Nazi Shooting Rampage

A bit back, I mentioned the guys in camo carrying AR-15s at an occupy event. And it turns out the guy was a Neo Nazi. Well, he’s gone on a shooting spree and killed 5 people, who were related to him.

Update: In the press account, they call him a vigilante, minuteman, and neo-nazi. No mention of the occupy stuff.

In his defense, we’re all pretty much in contempt of congress

But this is serious:

Republicans on the House Oversight Committee were to take the first formal step Thursday toward contempt proceedings against Attorney General Eric Holder over the Fast and Furious “gunwalking” operation, CBS News has learned.

The case for a citation declaring Holder in contempt will be laid out in a briefing paper and 48-page draft citation distributed to Democrats and Republicans on the committee. CBS News has obtained copies of both documents. In them, Republican members use strong language to accuse Holder of obstructing the committee’s investigation, which is now in its second year.

What is this watch you speak of?

It looks to me like that one screen on my smart phone.

Kidding aside, I’ve not worn a watch in about three years. I use my phone. I think the batteries in all of mine are probably dead now.

Am I the only one?

ZOMG Panic

Land mines found in luggage at Newark Airport. Only not:

The Transportation Security Administration says two of the three casings were packed with shrapnel but none featured explosives or detonators.

And TSA fail:

Hatcher, a mechanical engineer at the Army’s Picatinny Arsenal in Morris County, told cops that a co-worker headed for the same destination had an inert mine in her checked baggage that TSA inspectors did not detect.

One out of three would still be deadly.

Good for Rick Scott

On trying to get lawfully carried weapons banned at the GOP convention:

“An absolute ban on possession in an entire neighborhoods and regions would surely violate the 2nd Amendment,” Scott wrote to Buckhorn.

And:

“It is unclear how disarming law-abiding citizens would better protect them from the dangers and threats posed by those who would flout the law. It is at just such times that the constitutional right to self-defense is most precious and must be protected from government overreach,” Scott said in his letter.

Quote of the Day

Larry on facebook:

So yesterday, OWS tore up a couple of cities, sent fake anthrax to banks, and tried to blow up a bridge… I for one can’t wait for the media expose about racists in the Tea Party.

Racial violence

Since the Martin shooting, 15 attacks of white people by black gangs. I have yet to see the full on press coverage on the state of race relations resulting from these attacks. Gee, it’s like something is different.

This story is tragic

DEA agents locked a college student in a holding cell for five days with no food or water. He tried to kill himself. At least they say they’re sorry.

Obama wants to loosen arms export restrictions

So reports the Wall Street Journal:

U.S. homeland-security and law-enforcement agencies have objected to Obama administration proposals to relax export restrictions on high-powered firearms, threatening a centerpiece of the president’s trade and national-security agenda.

The agencies, in internal memos viewed by The Wall Street Journal, warn the changes could help arm drug cartels and terrorists and make it harder for the U.S. to crack down on gun-trafficking.

The arms proposal is part of a broader overhaul of U.S. export rules sought by Mr. Obama, with the goal of helping domestic manufacturers compete in global markets, as well as improving U.S. national security by focusing controls on higher-risk items and enhancing the capabilities of allies.

The president knows a growth industry when he sees it. And suddenly, the government is concerned about arming drug cartels? That’s a good one.

Reciprocity in New Mexico

New Mexico bars carry permits to legal resident aliens. They’re getting sued by the SAF for that. They’ve amended their reciprocity standards with other states so that those states must do the same. That is, they pulled reciprocity for those states that do not require US citizenship to get a permit. As such, 13 states no longer have reciprocity with New Mexico and Tennessee is one of them.

Update: Looks like NM has reinstated reciprocity. Good.

Mob violence

A mob of black people attacks a couple of white people, beating them. It was unreported in the news for a couple of weeks, probably because the skin color of the attackers didn’t fit the narrative. And, maybe, because it resulted from the existing narrative.

See, when Martin was shot, the press wanted to create this dialogue on race relations in the US. Now, not so much.

And, when seconds count, the police are minutes away.

Also, what caliber for angry mob? I’m going with 9mm due to increased capacity.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
