The local news ran a piece saying Gov. Haslam and Ron Ramsey opposed the bill. But Stacey Campfield says it’s not true and that, at least, Ramsey does support the bill.

Our legislature is in the news for doing some, well, dumb things. Such as a bill that would prohibit talking about gay cooties in school.

Another bill that says it’s ok for employers to discriminate against you if you’re gay. Employers should be able to hire and fire whoever they choose, whenever the choose and for whatever reason they choose. But laws have been passed to protect certain groups. Seems silly to pass a law specifically targeting a group to say they’re not protected.

And, of course, an anti-Sharia law and a law looking at Tennessee creating its own currency. For emergencies, like when the dollar isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on.

These are the things these small government Republicans are coming up with. Feh.

Well, good news! I get a second chance to make fun of hippies in Pittsburgh. You see, the Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church is having a march to get illegal guns off the street. In addition to maybe misusing their non-profit status there, they’re also directing their righteous indignation at the wrong group. The NRA isn’t the one putting guns on the street. But if you go protest at a gangbanger’s house, he’ll shoot you.

And I love the flyer: Acres of Guns = Acres of Death. There’s always acres of guns at these things. No deaths that I can recall. But, then, reality isn’t something anti-gunners are well-versed in.

All across the land, some 40 or so states allow those with carry permits to go heeled in establishments that serve alcohol. The push for these bills is always met with howls, bleats and screeches from anti-gunner and editorial boards (but I repeat myself) about how there will be shoot outs in bars and mass death and on and on. But it keeps not happening. And Ohio will be no different.
