What media bias?
David Hardy: Now this is the media I’m accustomed to!
BC:
This Bill authorizes fingerprints to be taken even if it is just a traffic citation. It has passed the House and is on the CONSENT calendar for the Senate??? meaning they don’t consider this bill to be more important that establishing State Leaf Day!!!
Police said a Michigan concealed weapons teacher accidentally shot a student in the face during a demonstration.

The teacher told investigators he thought the gun was loaded with plastic bullets.
Thankfully, injuries are non life threatening.
Closing today. We refinanced (4.5% for 15 years, if you must know). As part of the closing, I have to take a cashiers check. Well, they’ve run every financial stress test on me they can and I’m more liquid than Bank of America, which isn’t saying much. They know what I got, where it’s at, and where it’s coming from. Why not just take, say, my check. They know I have it. I have to make an extra stop and pay a fee now.
I ought to just show up with a few thousand in one dollar bills to see what happens.
Second Amendment Blog Bash attendees are welcome to join DownRange.tv’s Michael Bane, Tactical Solutions, and Insight Tech Gear for a special Happy Hour at Majerle’s Sports Grill on Friday night.
That’s the more accurate description. But ACK takes me to task because I say calling the bill the guns in bars is wrong. And, well, he’s sort of right. It is semantic. But in the run up, the versions of the bill had qualifiers about food, hours, age restrictions, etc. Clearly, those were designed to keep guns out of bars. Most of those restrictions have been stripped so maybe it is a guns in bars bill. My issue in the run up was the constant reference to it as a guns in bars bill when it was not. Heck, some asshat kept referring to it as the guns in saloons bill.
Meanwhile, a couple of reminders. You still can’t drink while packing and restaurants my prohibit you from carrying on their property. This bill just removes the state prohibition. The restaurant lobby opposed this bill. Probably because it would make their clients choose to put up a sign or not. And then there’s boycotts and stuff.
ACK links up how people think these are predecessors to secession and blah blah. They’re not. They’re mostly symbolic. But that symbolism is overshadowed by the fact that the number one source of states’ revenue these days is the federal government. So, the states want to say they’re sovereign in legislation while getting their free federal money. They want to suck at the teat then yell at the sow.
He’s crying because the Obama administration did not remove the Tiahrt language from the budget bill. You know, that bill that Paul always lies about with respect to gun traces.
The new Czech assault rifle: CZ-S805. Looks a bit like a SCAR.

Cool pic a of a bullet exiting the barrel.
So reports News Channel 3 that the renewal process now requires a birth certificate or passport. I’ve not had to renew mine in a while so I don’t know. Anyone experience this?
Well, the press has been taking dictation from the anti-gun lobby for years. Why not take dictation from the administration? They’re both paid for by the Joyce Foundation.
Obama To Fire His First Gay Arabic Linguist
Vote fraud by ACORN? No way.
Man robs the wrong pharmacist, who draws a gun and chases him off. With video.
Tom Humphrey, mistakenly referring to the bill as the ‘guns in bars’ bill, wonders if Governor Phil Bredesen will sign it. Well, if he wants a future in TN politics, he will. As I said before:
The Governor has been pretty pro-gun. He was endorsed by NRA, signed castle doctrine into law, and signed a law that requires local chief law enforcement officers to approve NFA transfers. So, some pretty good pro-gun credibility. Folks are wondering if he’ll sign the various pro-gun bills working through the legislature now. I’m guessing he will.
WizardPC emails:
So Conference came out with a report and that’s what they were voting on. The Conference Report is basically the Senate version, so no silly restrictions other than the primary source of income must be food.
Naifeh was the first one recognized, and said that with the adoption of the Conference Report you would be able to carry guns in more places than you could smoke.
Hardaway recognized next, says that law enforcement is opposition so he’s not supporting it. Todd responds that the specific LEOs Hardaway mentioned have, in fact, not made any opinion know publicly or privately.
Kelsey speaks in favor of the report, says that it provides clarity to HCPers and LEOs.
Mike Turner claims that this report makes the bill “entirely different” and that Rep Todd is being “mischeivious.”
Todd responds that he was never in favor of the restrictions. “This bill is no secret to anyone…There is no definition of a bar in the code….I challenge you to give me an example of a carry permit holder in another state causing problems…”
Rep Cobb states that he is not in favor of the bill, but has gotten so many calls from constiuents that he is “voting the will of the people over my personal will.” As it should be.
CONFERENCE REPORT ACCEPTED 66-23!
I’m pretty sure that means it passed and goes to the Governor’s desk.
Government to condemn land for Flight 93 memorial
The government will begin taking land from seven property owners so that the Flight 93 memorial can be built in time for the 10th anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks, the National Park Service said.
In a statement obtained by The Associated Press, the park service said it had teamed up with a group representing the victims’ families to work with landowners since before 2005 to acquire the land.
I like to cook. The wife and I have various recipes strewn about the house on paper, note cards, and carrier pigeons. And I have the oft neglected recipes category on the blog. So, I decided it’d a good idea so start typing them up to put on the old webpage so that I can 1) find them easily; 2) share with people; and 3) for the kids to find later. I’ve discovered at this point in life that my mom and dad made some really damn good food. And I occasionally want some of the old favorites. But, I don’t have the recipe. So, I call up mom and ask how to make stuff. Like her clam chowder. So, if my kids want that, they’ll have it.
Speaking of mom, I generally like to make my own salad dressing. Here’s one of my faves from Mom: Hawaiian Dressing. And, so, it seems appropriate to start this new endeavor with a new favorite of mine: Homemade Caesar Salad Dressing (quick and easy).
1 cup mayo
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon Worcestershire
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
Quarter cup of milk
Add salt and fresh ground pepper to taste. Whisk until smooth.
Update: For you purists, no there’s no anchovy paste. Mostly because I don’t usually have any around.
In Illinois (yes, that Illinois):
Teenagers gather to support gun ownership rights
A group of young people Tuesday night chimed in on the old debate over gun control.
And the message they stressed during a Second Amendment forum at Wheaton city hall was that gun-control measures won’t reduce firearm-related violence.
“Additional laws and taking away the rights of the people to bear arms simply will never work,” said Christos Dimoulis, a 15-year-old South Barrington resident.
We’re winning.
