The things you learn from The Amazon Affiliates Program
OK, which one of you bought this?
So, professional marketing hack Shannon Watts whined that the big, bad NRA blocked her from reading their twitter feed. Then, in an act of what is probably a combination of hypocrisy and stupidity or a complete lack of self awareness, she goes on to block anyone who has ever pointed out that she’s wrong all the time.
#ImBlockedByShannonWatts is a new badge of honor.
She even blocked me. I guess she’s afraid of a father of two. Not that I care. She only came across my radar when someone else made fun of her. Besides, if she thinks blocking someone means they can’t see her, she’s wrong.
Sharyl Attkisson is reviewing the document dump, which shows that, yes, the administration wanted to use the program to push for gun control.
Retired officers forced to sue D.C. for right to carry guns after receiving threats. They’ll be using The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act.
Bloomberg, Inc. stooges say that Mastercard was willing to help.
I can’t disagree with this list. The Glock is fine but it should have been a single stack 9mm.
ETA: HL reminded me about the Taurus Curve. I guess I can disagree with the list.
Yeah, yeah. I now know I should have bought one I could take apart.
I have one and I hadn’t cleaned it since I bought it. The manual I have says to blow it out with an air compressor or send it back to Gem-Tech when it needs cleaned really bad. I’ve done the air compressor thing and it seems to do exactly nothing. They also say to soak it in WD40 or mineral spirits. So, here’s how I cleaned it.
Assemble the material. Mineral spirits, two rubber bands, plastic wrap and a massager. Or, you know, if your wife has something more appropriately shaped and she’ll let you put pictures on the internet, use that.
Cover the hole in the bottom with plastic wrap and use a rubber band to secure the wrap and fill about 3/4 with mineral spirits:
Use the rubber band and plastic wrap to secure the other hand. And, at this point, I shook the hell out of it:
Give it a cursory “massage”:
Then attach the massager to the suppressor and let it run for however long you feel like. You can see now why the one the woman in your life may favor would be easier. For this one, I set them both in a cleaning rag and let them go:
Then drain the suppressor. I drained it shooty end down first, then attachment end. And I tapped a few times on the side of the bucket:
Look at all the crap that came out of it, including 3 big chunks of what I assume is carbon.
After, I blew it out with an air compressor and set it base down to dry.
My nephew let me shoot his BOOMco. Rapid Madness Blaster:
Man, how toy guns have evolved. And fun.
Except that Colt has nothing to do with it:
As a decade-long push to make a national park out of Samuel Colt’s 19th-century gun factory won approval, elected officials hailed the project as a way to boost one of Hartford’s poorest neighborhoods and honor the revolver as a marvel of manufacturing. Notably absent from the celebrating was Colt’s Manufacturing Co., as it and other gun makers say a strict gun control law has left them feeling unwelcome in the state.
Another letter, over at arfcom. I’m not sure I follow, exactly. Seems they’re saying that you can make one but shouldering it modifies it to an SBR. They spell out that an AFG added to a pistol does not modify the pistol.
Seems to me that, logically, adding an AFG to a thing with a brace on it would pretty strongly show an intent to shoulder it.
But, it’s ATF and making sense is not required.
It’s kind of bittersweet. My daughter, who no longer believes in Santa, is helping me play Santa.
I see them trollin’. They hatin’
From the facebook, comes this:
What are Perceived Carry Decoys? We’re glad you asked! Perceived Carry Decoys is a veteran owned entity that offers the worlds first and only way to exercise your 2nd amendment right, without the stigma or concerns associated with owning a gun.
PCD understands that not everyone is comfortable with owning an actual firearm. But why should those feelings affect your personal safety?
Now they no longer have to. With the launch of Perceived Carry Decoys, you may now give off the appearance that you are toting serious heat, while in actuality you have nothing more than a one piece device attached to your hip that is as harmless as a cell phone.
Ok, then.
Light blogging while we do the family thing. But I hope you have a good holiday.
And if you want to read something cool, how NORAD came to track Santa is a good one.
Headline: Teen shot at Dayton Mall tried to rob man for shoes
What really happened:
Officials say the investigation shows that three male juveniles approached two men outside of the hhgregg store just after 10 a.m.. According to police, 16-year-old Jawaad Jabbar got out a gun and demanded merchandise from the men.
One of the men, who police say had a valid concealed carry license, produced his gun and shot Jabbar. Jabbar died from injuries sustained from the gunshot.
Outnumbered by someone armed. That’s a bit more than just stealing shoes.
Is that you may use them wrong.
Seems that a new stabilizer brace has come out and gotten the OK from ATF, just like the SB-15. But, like the Black Aces shotty, they were told shouldering it may make it an NFA item. So, presto-chango, it’s not NFA and then it is:
If an individual attaches the Stabilizer to his AR pistol, goes to the range, shoots it as the manufacturer intended and then hands it to his friend who shoulders it, did it just become an illegal short barreled rifle? Given what FTISB put in their determination letter it would seem that way. This begs the question, is ATF actually classifying the firearm based on what it is or how it MIGHT be used?
That’s what the anti-gun people seem to want:
With more money and the support of the CDC, Teret said, one priority area of research would be finding out what kind of people are at risk for recommitting violence and then adding them to the category of citizens disallowed from purchasing guns. Another area would be so-called smart guns, which are designed so they are only fireable by authorized people.
With activist statements like that, and they wonder why congress pulled funding for their research.
These two killings and the life-threatening injury, like so many other unfortunate incidences of gun violence, provide a stark example of the need for sensible gun control measures, and the need to thoughtfully address untreated mental illness.
So, did the killer in NYC have only 7 rounds in his gun in compliance with the law?
Joe:
I find it very telling this anti-gun “Public Service Video” appears to advocate an activity similar to those practiced by youth organizations in countries like the USSR and Nazi Germany—spying on and turning your parents in to the authorities.
Not sure how well this works. But I suppose there’s a market for it.
There’s also the Handi Racker.
Gun control proponent suggests kids should steal their parents guns and take them to school:
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
