Every time I make it to the NRA convention, I always head to the Brownells booth first thing to say hello to the nicest man in the industry, Larry Weeks. This is the first year he wasn’t there. I guess he’s really retired now instead of retired and working when he wanted to.

Not quite certain why but it was certainly interesting. But the thing that I found most intriguing was the double forward bolt assist:
But this is no ordinary forward bolt assist. This one actually acts as a bolt release. The release is proprietary and only available on their guns. They’ve taken the most useless AR-15 part (the forward bolt assist) and made it adequately useful. It took some thumb stretching but, with some effort, I could operate it with my right hand.

A list, from Oddball. I’ve pretty much got all the guns I need. Assuming no concern for price or anything, my list of wants would 1) a big ass revolver, like this Korth here. I’ve never been really into wheelguns but they look like they’d be a blast.
2) A machine gun. Just to say I have a machine gun. Probably a registered M16 lower that I’d get all Magpul fanboy on.
3) A mid to long range gun that, probably in .308, to shoot Boomershoot.

A student brought a fake gun made of rolled up paper to a school in Hartford this morning, which led to a lockdown.
Look, Forrest, if you don’t want a gun, cool. Don’t get one. No problem. However, when you put pen to paper (or fingers to internet stupid machine or whatever) and explain why, do so in a logical manner. This is just stupid:
I decided there was one principal reason I wouldnt buy a handgun: I dont want to live in fear. I know that sounds strange a gun is supposed to bring peace of mind. But to keep a piece at your side is to look at the world through gunsights. Its a profoundly anti-social posture. To me, carrying a handgun is an acknowledgement of weakness, not strength. Its an admission that youre out of ideas for how to deal with people, even those especially those who mean you harm. Its a failure of imagination, a failure of wits and, in the case of open carry, a threat of violence to every passing person.
No, it’s not a sign of weakness. Much like not driving a car means you’re slow. It’s acknowledging that you are a tool using primate. And you can be more effective.
