Your excuse is invalid

Awesome:

At 9 o’clock this morning, Sgt. Sandra Coast will graduate from Basic Combat Training on Fort Leonard Wood, officially beginning her Army career – at 51 years old.

Why my calendar is never public

I have a way with words and not a good one:

Well, why not

Like a KRISS, it seems pointless but darn fun.

Thanks but no tanks

In an update to the NH town getting a tank, there’s a protest website. And this made me laugh.

Ridiculous Gun Myths People Believe

From Cracked. It’s from 2010 but I don’t remember seeing it before.

They don’t like the competition?

Bitter:

According to the coverage of the potential sale of the two primary Philadelphia newspapers, the New York Times seems concerned that the papers will become nothing more than mouthpieces for the Democratic Party and union leaders.

That’s funny, right there.

Stop. Think. Let it go.

Some magical thinking that a public service announcement will stop violence. Who exactly do they think they’re reaching here?

Winning

The Three Rules on Prime Time network TV:

These bills rarely pass

In VA, the bill to limit access to those with carry permits isn’t moving forward. Just like in several other states, it’s killed by the GOP. My theory (since I’ve received such mailers) is that the politicos want access to the list so they can send you political junk mail.

This one made me smile

From the live free or die state.

Police in a small NH town wanted to waste tax dollars on an armored vehicle. You know, to fight terrorists and stuff. But that plan is on hold after residents of the town found out about it:

Resistance began with Mike Clark, a 27-year-old handyman. Clark, who said he’s had a couple encounters with Keene police and currently faces a charge of criminal mischief, read about the Homeland Security grant in the newspaper. “The police are already pretty brutal,” Clark said, claiming he was roughed up in both his encounters with local police. “The last thing they need is this big piece of military equipment to make them think they’re soldiers.”

Forget responsibility

You can have my navigation system, dvd player, bluetooth, and iPod connectivity when you pry it from my cold dead hands

Big Brother in your car:

Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, in the non-binding guidelines issued today, also called for disabling manual texting, Internet browsing, 10-digit phone dialing and the ability to enter addresses into a built-in navigation system for drivers unless the car is in park.

The latter is already here and it’s annoying. My wife’s Earthfucker has a fancy navigation system that you can’t edit while the vehicle is moving. It’s also not smart enough to enable editing of it when there’s a passenger in the car. We’ve had to actually stop the vehicle a few times to key an address instead of it being smart enough to realize that there’s a passenger in the car to key it.

Romney on guns

He has a position statement on his site. Via Jacob, who notes It’s just words with no substance. So, it’s just like Romney?

Lying to win err lose

Another reason the Brady grades are pointless: They’re inaccurate.

Sign of the times

Paper mill that used to make news print now making toilet paper.

You have to be careful when you leave America

Mentioned the marine arrested for carrying a gun in NYC and how he did not accept the plea deal. Some more items:

The marine calls their laws illogical. They are but that’s not a good legal defense.

NY state of mind: Gun amnesty for criminals, felony charges for unwitting Marine

Former governor says to drop the charges.

If you wish to contribute to his legal defense, an arfcommer tells you how.

Speaking of hypocrisy

Obama is glad that men with guns protect his daughter.

Brock’s Glock

A look at the hypocrisy of Captain Coo Coo Banana. Why, it’s like they don’t believe their own propaganda or something.

Quote of the Day

I linked the article earlier but this quote is telling:

Because there’s no way that the current forces on our side can combat the NRA. They’re just too big. They have an enormous amount of money and people, and they throw their weight around in a pretty big fashion

Elliot Fineman of the National Gun Victims Action Council, who just recently said that they outnumbered us 50:1. Grassroots, you have none.
