Feds to regulate Cheerios?

Because it reduces cholesterol, it’s a drug. Via Robert, who says:

First of all, is General Mills a REAL General…or what? IF General Mills is a General, then he ought to order the FDA lined up and shot.

And, they come in chocolate.

Why are anti-gun activists so violent?

The Post:

State Police warned state Senate Majority Leader Malcolm Smith (D-Queens) about Sen. Kevin Parker’s temper just days before the Brooklyn Democrat flew into a rage and attacked a Post photographer.

Kevin Parker is a founding member of New York chapter of State Legislators Against Illegal Guns

From Mexico

Bill Conroy:

Experts suggest Mexican weapons-bust press conference may have been staged event

[…]

there is just one problem with this narrative. According to U.S. law enforcers, specifically the ATF, the captured weapon is not what it appears to be, or at least what it was purported to be by the Mexican police commander.

In fact, according to Bill Newell, special agent in charge of ATF in Arizona and New Mexico, the so-called 800 rpm “anti-aircraft gun” isn’t a machine gun at all, but rather a WWII-era semi-automatic replica of a Browning machine gun made by a U.S. company.

Sucker

LA gun buy program nets Luger valued at $10K.

And so, it begins

The zombypocalypse starts. With ants.

Gillibrand on guns

Top-notch and credible news source prison planet reports that Gillibrand will introduce an assault weapons next week. It’s based on this article in which McCarthy says she’ll introduce one. And by she, McCarthy means McCarthy. And McCarthy is in the house and Gillibrand is in the senate. So, don’t put too much faith in the crack reporting from Alex Jones’ minions. Granted, Gillibrand has been a disappointment to gun owners. Wonder how NRA will grade the A-Rated senator in the coming years?

I am a bad Twitterer

I’m so bad, that twitterer is probably not what they’re called.

See, I started a Twitter account. Now, it’s just a re-print of stuff I post here. Nothing more. I don’t even read my own twitter account. Apparently, I have followers on twitter. But I don’t really know what that means. And I don’t follow anyone. Nothing personal but I 1) don’t get twitter; 2) don’t even read my own account; and 3) don’t even know how to follow people or what that’s for. Does that make me a rude twitterer?

Also, it seems that a few of my ‘followers’ are spammers.

Also, can we stop with the articles on how twitter is going to either save media or be the end of it? It’s not that great.

Update: Speaking of articles on twitter saving everyone, here’s one right on cue.

Twitter: blogging for lazy people.

Update: Ok, I’m informed I can track my twitter-fu by this RSS feed. Thanks to bitter.

And eat it too

Tell us something we don’t know

Jimmy Naifeh, some made up title, doesn’t like or trust gun owners.

Elitism

Apparently, two issues the elitists are out of touch on are global warming and guns.

Cashiers Checks updated

So, I asked earlier why they make me get a cashiers check as part of closing. So, at closing, I decided to ask. The title guy said it was required by state law. I asked if cash would have been OK and he said it would have been.

Also, we went to a local bank to close. The bank had nothing to do with the transaction other than, apparently, the title guy or mortgage lady rented a conference room from them that was convenient for us to get to. Heading into the bank, I was met with this sign that caused me to stop and laugh out loud:

From Misc

Wow. Relying on a sign. Why not put up a Robbing is Prohibited sign? And there’s the fact that their other sign prohibiting weapons does not appear to comply with Tennessee State Law which has requirements for signs prohibiting the otherwise lawful carrying of weapons by permit holders.

Regardless of that, I won’t be doing any business with BankEast.

Update: Heh:

Why didn’t they just staple a sprig of wolfsbane and a few cloves of garlic over the doorway while they were at it?

My guess would be ‘no’

FBI Data

On officers killed in the line of duty. Down 17 from last year:

Firearms were the weapons most often used in these slayings. Of the 35 officers killed with firearms, 25 were killed with handguns, five with rifles, four with shotguns, and one officer was murdered with an unknown type of firearm. Four officers were killed by vehicles, and two officers died from injuries as a result of a bomb.

At the time of their deaths, 30 of the law enforcement officers were wearing body armor. Ten officers fired their weapons, and four of the officers attempted to fire their weapons. Six officers had their weapon stolen, and four officers were killed with their own weapons.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
