This idiotorial seems to be saying that it’s OK if ATF let a few guns in because the president of Mexico says the guns are coming from the US any way. Even though we know a lot of the weapons come from the Mexican army and most cannot be traced to the US. It doesn’t fit the narrative that the NYT wants and that ATF was trying to create, even though they had to break a few eggs.

Seen on facebook: Imagine the DEA telling pharmacists to illegally sell oxycontin to known drug dealers or they would be shut down. Then imagine the DEA using the fact that more oxycontin was on the street (and hundreds of overdose deaths) as a pretext for making it harder for patients to get prescribed narcotics. This is essentially what happened with the ATF and Project Gunwalker

Also, noted in the article is that the NRA continues its policy of not participating in the gun control talks at the justice department. Good. It’s a nice way to illustrate the pointlessness of these talks.
Sean wonders why gun bloggers aren’t an interest group. And is does seem to me that maybe politicians should talk to someone about guns. That way, when they start talking, they look like they know what they’re talking about.
Judge sentences a mom for spanking her child:
A judge in Corpus Christi, Texas had some harsh words for a mother charged with spanking her own child before sentencing her to probation.
“You don’t spank children today,” said Judge Jose Longoria. “In the old days, maybe we got spanked, but there was a different quarrel. You don’t spank children.”
Rosalina Gonzales had pleaded guilty to a felony charge of injury to a child for what prosecutors had described as a “pretty simple, straightforward spanking case.” They noted she didn’t use a belt or leave any bruises, just some red marks.
Sounds like someone needs to take a lash to the judge.
Forgot to tell this story but I thought it was funny. Prior to the LuckyGunner shoot, I had a few bloggers come by the house for some pork tenderloin and my homemade sauce. Come to find out that Kevin and Rick were driving around in a rental with an older GPS and couldn’t quite find my house. And then they saw the tire in the street and found my place.

I was unaware of the hoops you have to go through in Michigan to buy a gun. An safety inspection where they seem to make sure to inspect the make, model and serial number.
The Chicago Gun Registry is a failure:

Saw this in American Riflemen this week. But Hatfield’s Gunsmithing has an improved racker for Glocks. This would be useful for racking the gun with one hand.
