Duh. Everyone knows you have to be 18 and can only buy guns from licensed dealers after a background check.

Obviously, the student was 18 and bought from a licensed dealer, not 14 and bought on the street.

While I bet it was a rifle, a part of me almost hopes that it was a Marlin 25MG:

‘Tis a silly thing, but I have a chipmunk problem and am enough of a dork to buy one just for that purpose.

    A what???

I own a Rossie youth-sized single shot switch barrel rifle/shotgun combo gun. It came with an interchangeable 22LR barrel and a .410 shotgun barrel.

Maybe somebody bought one of these inexpensive plinkers and cut it down to a “youth gangster” model, which would make the reporter possibly correct, albeit inaccurate.

    Ruger Charger, perhaps?

  6. Chas Says:

At least he wasn’t carrying the dreaded “40mm Glock”!

Ever consider that perhaps, just perhaps, the reporter and editor were simpy parotting what the cops told them?

It’s not as if most cops are particularly knowledgeable about firearms. Nor that most reporters and editors know how to think, spell, use a dictionary, or do original research.

Consider that each is most likely a product of today’s educational system.

Sorry but parroting the cops doesn’t cut it. Direct conflicts in the text are something anyone with reading comprehension is suppose to find. They seem to have removed the “.22 shotgun” reference but they left this:

Most of the guns were replicas, but a 14-year-old boy was carrying a shotgun that he had bought on the street, she said.

The 14-year-old was charged with illegal possession of a rifle and taken to Alameda County Juvenile Hall, and the school employees were issued misdemeanor citations for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to Joshi.

So he had a shotgun but they charged him with illegally possessing a rifle, hmmm?

  9. Beaumont Says:

Was he also carrying an “AR-47”?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
