Lost in translation

Friday, August 24th, 2007

Over at Bryan Miller’s blog, reader dwlawson translates Reasoned Discoursetm into English: What they say ==> What they mean Dialogue = => you listen to us Spew ==> facts and statistics Dangerously Extreme ==> passionate and committed No time or inclination ==> unable to respond Sensible Gun Laws ==> gun bans Good Gun Laws ==> […]

Sanity breaks out in NJ

Monday, August 20th, 2007

I suppose to counter the PSH of Bryan Miller, NJ.com now has a pro-gun blogger, Scott Bach. You’ve probably heard of him. I have. Get thee hence.

Reasoned discourse

Monday, August 20th, 2007

There was no better source for pro-gun information than the Brady Blog itself. So, they shut off comments after running some pretty hateful correspondence they had in a series entitled reasoned discourse. None of that stuff actually appeared on the blog, though. Additionally, other anti-gun blogs suffer the similar fates: Another anti-gun blog starts up […]

More Reasoned Discourse

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

What is reasoned discourse with the anti-gun establishment?  Paul Helmke certainly says he wants more of it, so he closed down comments on Brady’s blog.   Bryan Miller, President of CeaseFire PA and NJ, has this to say about us in the comments: As I’ve said previously, I have neither time nor inclination to respond to […]

Reasoned Discourse

Monday, August 6th, 2007

So, The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Ownership starts a blog. They get inundated with pro-gun comments. Two anti-gun commentators tilt at windmills. They stop allowing comments and cut off trackbacks citing a series called ‘reasoned discourse’ and noting some rather nasty comments they’ve received (none of which actually appeared on the blog). We mean […]

In case you haven’t had your fill

Friday, August 3rd, 2007

More reasoned discourse from Bryan Miller of Ceasefire New Jersey: But, I have to laugh at how indignant you boys get when anyone calls some semiautomatics ‘assault weapons.’ Guys, it’s just a name – for a particularly dangerous type of weapon, mind you – but just a name. You show how obsessed you are when […]

Don’t look now

Friday, August 3rd, 2007

But reasoned discourse has started with Bryan Miller. He seems to think that Michael Sullivan (head of ATF) is an evil Bushite. Not only does he suffer from hoplophobia, he seems to have a case of moonbattery. I think the cure for the latter involves foil, two layers with the shiny side out.

Comments off and sock-puppetry in 5 . . . 4 . . . 3 . . .

Friday, August 3rd, 2007

Sebastian alerts us to another anti-gun blog run by Ceasefire NJ’s Bryan Miller. Behold the PSH. Peter Hamm of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Ownership comments there too. Say hi to Macca. BTW, I love the comments. Bryan belittles and insults and claims he doesn’t have time to address comments. That will soon transform […]

I will no longer buy Bud Err, maybe not

Monday, July 16th, 2007

The AP: The country’s largest gun lobby is no longer offering free tickets to get to Sesame Street. The National Rifle Association had been giving away free tickets to Sesame Place, an amusement park that caters to children, and other theme parks in return for online donations to its political arm, the Institute for Legislative […]

Simple Question

Thursday, December 15th, 2005

Bryan Miller, the executive director of Ceasefire New Jersey, writes a response to Lawrence Braico of the Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs that says in part: Gun-lobby rhetoric is awash in false patriotism and incorrect reading of constitutional principle, and Braico didn’t spare us either. But in his rambling and parental letter […]

National reciprocity for handgun carry

Monday, July 20th, 2009

There’s a bill to propose just that. Sebastian has a look at it. Anti-gunners and editorial boards (but I repeat myself) are already soiling themselves. Sensibly Progressive: I did not imagine the day when we could get such a bill out for a full vote in either house, particularly with the current make-up of Congress, […]

More on gun sales

Monday, November 10th, 2008

Ridefast makes a good point. Remember how the press kept trying to tell us Obama wasn’t really anti-gun and we had nothing to worry about? Well, now that they’re reporting on gun sales increases (which, according to the deluded, is just propaganda from the gun lobby) they have to admit Obama may not be so […]

Correlation

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

Thirdpower correlates instances of mass shootings with their Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Ownership state rankings and gun free zones. Note that the Brady Bunch did not rank Washington DC, the murder capital of the country. Not, it’s not causation but it does indicate that gun controls don’t exactly stop these things.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
