Record gun sales. Again, still.
*Reports come in that Ohio State University is reporting an active shooter on campus*
“Quick, gin up our prepared in advance gun violence, mass shooting, AR-15s are the devil narrative. Yeah, and call in those fake experts we get to come in and scare everyone about gun violence, mass shootings and AR-15s and tell them to put on their pantsuits and bowties for the TeeVee tonight”
“Oh, while we’re at it, listen to those police scanners and get the suspect’s name and look for him on facebook to see if he’s a Trump voter or has ties to the Tea Party”
*time passes. Bloviating on TeeVee ensues*
“Sir, new information. Yeah, there was no shooting. Turns out the guy used a car and a butcher knife”
“Well, we can’t run with the original plan. Anything else?”
“Yeah, the suspect is a Somali guy with a funny name.”
*mumble mumble*
Update: Meanwhile, Shannon Watts beclowns herself.
This is our historic moment to go on offense
Assuming Trump dances with who brung him.

The NYPD is issuing Glock 17s with 15 round magazines:
The gun, as designed, can hold 17-round magazines two more than the Glock 19. But the NYPD had the manufacturer customize the Glock 17s to carry only 15 rounds so it would be consistent with the interchangeable Glock 19 magazine.
The lack of logic in this astounds me.
Background Check Laws May Actually Interfere With Suicide Prevention Efforts.
The make the case that states that have required checks for all transfers may lead someone who is suicidal to not give their guns to family members.
This does not warrant a “the future is stupid” tag as I can see this benefiting some people.
So say some scientists. Of course it is. I’m traveling into the future as we speak.
Sounds like a good idea. Getting fully into carrying guns can be expensive. Switching guns is expensive too.
20% off at the Sig Store on any one item. One of their airguns seems like a good idea.
Women are propelling gun sales to all time highs:
FBI figures show the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) is running more checks than ever before. Nearly 25 million background checks will have been completed by years end.
By proxy, that means more guns being sold than before and local shops say their sales are getting better every year.
A key group driving sales women.
Women are helping propel firearm background checks and gun sales to an all-time high.
And Trump’s victory supposedly leading to minorities buying guns:
After Donald Trump’s win, Yolanda Scott is upgrading the crowbar she keeps in her purse to a small-caliber pistol.
Scott, an African-American, is one of many minorities who have been flocking to gun stores to protect themselves, afraid Trump’s victory will incite more hate crimes.
Yeah, all those riots out there by those Trump supporters are startling. Oh, wait.
The gun used to arrest Lee Harvey Oswald.
Here’s a 25mm anti-tank gun for sale.
The latest company to get in on the striker fired, plastic gun game: CZ
There are a few things that have truly changed my life, such as the internet and smart phones. One other thing is the Instant Pot. And it’s half off today at Amazon’s black Friday sale.
And here’s some PMags for less than $9.
Here’s a round up of other gun deals.
And more here.
With the way Google tracks everything and the way the want to ban anything that I like, like gun stuff, what other options are available? I mean, a full service solution for email, calendar, phone, everything. I’ve never cared for Apple products and don’t really dig how they treat their devices or customers. The windows phone and computer combo seems workable but its dearth of comparable apps available is limiting.
Is there anything I’m missing?
The Pentagon recently released detailed guidance that allows U.S. military personnel to carry privately owned, concealed firearms on base, a move that the Army’s service chief argued against publicly.
“Arming and the Use of Force,” a Nov. 18 Defense Department directive approved by Deputy Secretary of Defense Robert Work, lays out the policy and standards that allow DoD personnel to carry firearms and employ deadly force while performing official duties.
If they can be trusted with guns on a battlefield, they can be trusted with them at work.
You can make money and youtube. And, being owned by Google, they’re cutting that out if your videos are gun related.
17+1 rounds of 10mm. Sweet. Does it come in plastic?
At 16, a teen was committed to a mental facility because he was thought to be suicidal. At 16, obviously not an adult. At the age of 21, he went to buy a gun. He was denied and charged with lying on the form to purchase. He wants his gun rights restored and is suing.
The feds will still arrest and have you convicted:
Two Kansans face up to a decade in prison for making and selling silencers without registering them with the federal government or paying the special taxes. They say it’s allowed under state law. But a federal jury says it’s illegal.
A woman is suing a vibrator company because it’s companion app on her phone tracked personal data while she was, uhm, shebopping.
The future is stupid.
FullConceal sells what looks like a pretty derpy idea. Basically, cut the grip off a Glock, add a magazine holder to the front, and let’s make it an 80% receiver so there’s no FFL required. Have a look:
I get trying to make a gun more concealable but when you make it substantially less useful and effective, I don’t think that works.
I have one. Only not the kind you’re thinking of. Got the wife a new Earthfucker and it’s replete with all manner of features to assist the driver. Some of these features are pretty cool. Most of them are annoying. On the cool side is the back up camera graphic that can project where the vehicle will end up if you keep the steering wheel where it’s at. This has proven handy for parking the large thing in tight spots. It also has a light on the mirror that lights up if someone is to your left or right. This is also handy, since the large thing has tiny mirrors.
As to the annoying features, it has a mode it goes into for descending steep inclines. This will cause the vehicle to use a lower gear and brake on its own. It will also brake on its own if it senses you’re approaching something too quickly. And, the worst of all, it will beep and the seat will vibrate alerting you to all this. So, when you pull into your garage, all these damn things go off at once. Quite the nuisance. Fortunately, I was able to disable the vibrating and the beeping.
Not to be a fuddy duddy, but it’s the driver’s job to drive the car. Not the computer’s. I like all the features that provide me with information, such as the camera and lights when someone might be in the blind spot. But the actual driving of the vehicle is not something I want a computer to do.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
