No guns at MTSU – even for police

Received via email:

It has come to the attention of the Tennessee Fraternal Order of Police State Lodge that Middle Tennessee State University has decided on a policy not to let off duty officers carry their firearms on campus or in the classroom. I wanted to inform our members as well as all law enforcement that at this time I have directed the State Lodge Legal Counsel to research this issue.

It is my belief that there is State Law, and possiblely Federal and Case Law that not only gives off duty officers the authority to carry their weapon on a public campus but that officers are required to act in certain situations, on or off duty, to attempt to make an arrest. I would also submit that should a situation of an “active shooter ” on campus arise the actions taken by an armed off duty officer would save lives.

As I said our legal counsel will research the appropriate T.C.A.’s, Federal and Case Law and render an opinion. After we have received his opinion the State Lodge will then decide on a coarse of action to resolve this issue. I will keep you informed.

Another email states that MTSU’s policy may be illegal.

Congrats

To PGP for becoming president of MD shall issue.

More Palin Comparison

Oh, I forgot to mention one other criticism and it is basically how the left says Palin sucks because she was mayor of a shit-hole town and governor of a shit-hole state. Nothing. Not sticking.

Today’s chump illustrating this bogus criticism is Sean Braisted who notes the two buildings that both Palin and Obama worked in. Which is funny because he’s reduced to comparing his number one guy to the GOP’s second fiddle.

Update: related: Sarah Palin and Barack Obama are more or less the same age, but Governor Palin has run a state and a town and a commercial fishing operation, whereas (to reprise a famous line on the Rev Jackson) Senator Obama ain’t run nothin’ but his mouth.

Ouch

Treacher:

The biggest difference, as I see it, between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama

One of them is little more than an elegant, attractive, dare I say sexy piece of eye candy.

The other one kills her own food.

Biden my time

One would think that, in politics, being a douchebag would be a career-limiting characteristic. One would be wrong. There are a great many douchebags who are successful politicians. John Edwards is a major douchebag. Chuck Schumer is also a major douchebag. These guys just come across to most folks (ahem, me) as condescending, egotistical pricks who think they know better. Neither of them compare to the douchebag king: Mitt Romney. I mean, that guy just oozes douchebag. His level of douchebaggery transcended a new level when he was eagerly saying anything he could say to get elected (I was wrong on abortion, etc.) and still came across as a condescending prick. I mean, he was even an asshole while, basically, begging for votes.

Biden is also a douchebag, though he’s more a douchebag like Schumer is a douchebag and not so much a douchebag like Romney is a douchebag. And Biden is old school democrat, which, based on congressional approval, is not polling that well these days.

Those pondering if Palin will drop out should hope Biden does.

Democrats and guns

Right Democrat:

Despite the increasing presence of Democrats such as Brian Schweitzer, Russ Feingold, Jim Webb, and Bill Richardson who are embracing our Second Amendment rights, it seems that gun policy for the Democratic Party is still being dictated by the likes of the Brady Campaign and the Violence Policy Center instead of by Democrats themselves.

Isn’t it time our party found its own voice on gun legislation?

Doesn’t our party deserve better than to be snared by the pitfalls of the past?

I’ve been pointing that out to you guys for years. But you never learn the lesson and that is apparent when you nominate Mr. HopeyChangey and his equally anti-gun VP pick Biden. They like to tell me that Obama isn’t a threat to gun owners but Obama’s recent statements and past actions indicate he’s quite a threat. He was on the board of the Joyce Foundation. You don’t get more anti-gun than that. I wish they’d learn. Like Joe says:

I wish the Democrats would see the light and stop being so divisive on this issue so I could move on to other issues.

Palin Comparison

I’m a fan of Palin. And I find it funny that all the stuff being hurled at her by the left is just not finding traction.

The ridiculous attack on her daughter. Not even a blip.

Her daughters preggers, underage, and unmarried? So. Not really bugging folks that much. Not a blip!

She supported Buchanan? Nada.

Member of the local libertarian clique? Not a bug, a feature.

Hubby got a DUI? Again, nothing.

Her disgruntled former employee is suing her? Big deal, happens every day in America.

And none of this is finding any traction at all. The Kosmonauts and Obama worshippers are throwing the proverbial book at her. And it’s only been a couple of days. And their attacks aren’t sticking. And there’s a reason for that. You see, Palin is a nice dose of what we bitter clingers want, with a bit of pandering to disgruntled Hillary supporters who vote for vaginas thrown in.

Here’s a woman who is successful despite not having a perfect family life.

Beyond that, what scares the left is that Palin is guns, God and babies. Bitter and clingy Americans love that.

Quote of the day

From the Para Event and I forgot who said it:

Hell, Uncle’s illegal in California.

You can’t not break the law here

So, a guy near the Democrat Convention is lawfully open carrying his firearm. He was arrested and detained. Said the man:

Asked if it was wise to carry a gun near the Obama event, Noble said: “His rights don’t trump mine.”

Amen.

Beneath contempt, the assault on Sarah Palin’s daughter

The far left has officially lost its mind. Not content will vilifying Sarah Palin the Uber “progressive” left has now sunk to attacking Sarah Palin’s seventeen year old daughter.

How low can these creatures go?

Egalia has more. The comments tell how women feel. They feel betrayed.

Locally Katie Allison Granju posted a blog post in the Knoxville News Sentinel that reported on the terrible post from the Daily Krazy about the vile untrue rumor about Palin’s daughter. After hundreds of outraged readers pounded Katie her own mother told her she had crossed the line. Katie pulled the post and apologized. She was correct to do so.

What is wrong with these people?

We’re winning

From Joe’s quote of the day comes Dennis Hennigan:

The lines are being more clearly drawn on the gun issue. One day after Senator Obama made it clear that he thinks assault weapons should be banned in a remarkable portion of his speech, here Senator McCain selects someone who is not only proud to be endorsed by [the NRA], an opponent of that ban, but apparently is pretty enthusiastic about the guns themselves.

McCain is not a fan of the ban on weapons that look like assault weapons either.
