The far left has officially lost its mind. Not content will vilifying Sarah Palin the Uber “progressive” left has now sunk to attacking Sarah Palin’s seventeen year old daughter.

Locally Katie Allison Granju posted a blog post in the Knoxville News Sentinel that reported on the terrible post from the Daily Krazy about the vile untrue rumor about Palin’s daughter. After hundreds of outraged readers pounded Katie her own mother told her she had crossed the line. Katie pulled the post and apologized. She was correct to do so.

Not to be too cynical, but that happened decades ago, though I must admit that they are squirrellier than ever and have less integrity than ever too. They used to at least try to have some credibility, though nowadays they’re so deranged that they’re proud of their insanity.

All you small minded people who are crucifying Governor Palin over the question of her fifth child, are just fueling a vicious smear campaign. Besides, if you want to exhibit your holier-than-thou attitude … why don’t you get even more angry at Obama, Michelle, and their children, for spending 20 years in an anti-American racist church, as well as associations with Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers, Rezko, etc.. These facts are much more relevant to the next administration, than the possibility of a loving mother taking the heat to protect her child and grandchild.

lewrockwell.com had a good post summing up that Biden was the nail in the coffin for Obama and now the attacks on Palin are desperation. That is funny that her 17 y/o did get get knocked up though. Ha! Those Alaskans don’t really have anything better to do anyway.

I agree that the apology is in order , however the pulling the post is simple leftist tactics . Alan Colmes of fox news fame seems to have done the same with a despicable post about her , but hey at least Katie apologized, reports alan just deleted the post due to ” technical issues ” . The Left will never follow the gun bloggers in leaving a mistaken ( or simply lying ) post stand and dealing with it down the line . They believe in ” new speak and new think ” where one can re write history , in spite of screen shots and web archives lol .

It’s the fringe equivalent of “Obama’s a muslim and faked his birth certificate”. The fringes are on both sides and seem to easily distract the blogosphere from election issues and judging candidates on their positions.

My BFF lives in Alaska and he endorses my generalization. BTW – not a ‘leftlib’ and I hail from the occupied Valley of Death. I just think it’s somewhat ironic that a rumor was started about her daughter being pregnant over a year ago – which is malicious and untrue – but then the truth comes out that her daughter CURRENTLY is pregnant.

The teenage pregnancy rate is lower than average in Alaska, the birthrate is higher than average, and the abortion rate is lower than average.

so one diarist on daily kos writes an incredibly stupid diary that elicits 2000 comments most of which said to the effect of “your an idiot” and this somehow is a reflection of the left or even just the “far-left”

Manish: the replies I read (at least the first 200, and 40 or so of the last of them as of yesterday) were NOT mostly of the “you’re an idiot” variety.
There were indeed a fair number of objections, some pointing out trenchantly that e.g. the author had scrubbed the date of one of the pictures of the daughter (so that her supposed pregnancy extended from 2006 to 2008 … I guess the nights aren’t the only long things up there), but most were in favor, tried to explain away various objections to it, etc.
And the bigger problem here is that a lot of others outside of that one diary entry jumped onto this, continue to elaborate on this wild speculation, and keep pushing it.
The whole thing really is a window into a number of dark souls.
