Douchebag

The maker of The Back Up (a bedside shotgun rack) issued a presser stating that maybe one of these would have saved Jennifer Hudson’s family from tragic death.

I’m as pro-gun as they get but that is pretty tasteless.

Bryan Miller: Keeping it classy

The reason that 8 year-old was firing the machine gun was because guns are a stand-in for erections.

What about my wife’s gun?

Failure to Commit

On I-240 just South of downtown Memphis, there’s a Fantastic Sam’s billboard with a picture of a moderately attractive 30-something woman, with the text “From Soccer Mom to Soccer Hottie.”

That strikes me as a missed opportunity, or a lack of balls. The obvious payoff should be “From Soccer Mom to Soccer MILF.”

That is all.

Bastards

There were four high school cheerleaders killed in an auto accident. Fred Phelps and his merry band of drooling lunatics plan on protesting the funerals.

Zombies

If you’re in Chicago, you have less than one week to prepare for the semi-annual biennial event in which the dead walk the earth to vote. Be prepared.

Little late there, folks

So, after the constant fellating of Obama by the press, a few outlets decide to shame the media. With a week to go. First up:

The sheer bias in the print and television coverage of this election campaign is not just bewildering, but appalling. And over the last few months I’ve found myself slowly moving from shaking my head at the obvious one-sided reporting, to actually shouting at the screen of my television and my laptop computer.

And from the same bit:

Middle America, even when they didn’t agree with Joe, looked on in horror as the press took apart the private life of an average person who had the temerity to ask a tough question of a presidential candidate. So much for the standing up for the little man. So much for speaking truth to power.

And: Why McCain is getting hosed in the press:

The Project for Excellence in Journalism’s researchers found that John McCain, over the six weeks since the Republican convention, got four times as many negative stories as positive ones. The study found six out of 10 McCain stories were negative.

What’s more, Obama had more than twice as many positive stories (36 percent) as McCain — and just half the percentage of negative (29 percent).

You call that balanced?

Well, they have an election to win.

Neat pic.

Field Guide To Modern Conservatives

I don’t care who you are, that’s funny right there.

Bigotry

Delaware State Police stopped a person from buying a gun because she was old and a woman. Funny because the Executive Director of the American Hunters and Shooters Association, Bob Ricker, has said that every young female who purchases guns legally should raise a red flag as being a criminal subject to federal prosecution and 10 years in prison. No young women. No older women. It’s like anti-gunners have trouble with women or something. That line of thinking got the ATF in trouble a few years ago.

Up next, no blacks or gays. Oddly, the local press calls this a glitch.

Also, funny story, it turns out the state police also had been keeping lists of gun buyers for years; state law requires them to destroy these records after 60 days. Oops.

Happy Birthday

Yesterday was Brittney’s birthday.

Today is mine. I’m 37.

Taxing Birdwatching

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is looking into it:

But wildlife watching in Tennessee – which doesn’t require a license – is on the rise. TWRA is pitching an idea to tax non-hunters through small fees for trailer license plates, new fees to visit managed lands or by taxing products like bird seed.

ACORN and Guns

ACORN not just stealing elections anymore:

NSSF mentioned last night that ACORN is asking to get involved in an appeal of a Jersey City case that twice previously threw out one-gun-a-month laws. But their brief doesn’t answer questions gun owners want to know like why the hell ACORN wants to get involved.

It turns out that ACORN has actually been involved with the case since that last appeal when they joined as intervenors for Jersey City in an effort to uphold the law to limit lawful sales.

And remember, Barack Obama has never, ever even heard of ACORN.

Permits in NYC

Reason to own a handgun: To shoot your dog.

And you could make an A-List Movie using the folks in NYC who have permits to carry handguns. Like you and me, only better.

Cooper Firearms

It was reported they supported Obama.

Fearing Zumbofication, the story has since changed to Oops, my bad. I only did once and have changed my mind.

Update: Not convinced.

Joe seems to think he just wants to be eaten last.

Quote of the day

Heh:

If the average “White Power” neo-Nazi type making the news is truly the best the white race has to offer, then we Caucasians are in some pretty deep shit.

States’ rights

Not applicable in Wyoming:

State officials say a recent court ruling has rendered meaningless a Wyoming law intended to allow people convicted of domestic violence to regain their federal firearms rights.

Daughter of slave to vote for Obama

Ya know, I’m no fan of Obama. But this is still a pretty cool story: We’re within one lifetime (albeit a really long one) of slavery and a black man could be elected president next week.

Innovative

New trend in AK-47 stocks?

Credible?

Some neo-Nazi bone err skin heads decided to try to kill Obama. Ok, more likely, the neo-Nazi shit err skin heads got on Al Gore’s internets and entertained delusions of not being retarded and planned to kill black people and, ultimately, targeting Obama. The ATF was probably perusing stormfront or some other hotbed of racist douchebaggery, caught wind of it and moved in. I’m actually wondering just how credible a threat these two doofuses were? Yeah, they’re just kids but so were those two dipshits from the Columbine shooting. I’m not faulting the authorities for moving in and I do think they did the right thing. But I have to wonder if these two bozos were really a credible threat?

And I have the sticker to prove it

I early voted today. Usually when I early vote, I walk right in and right out. Today, there was a bit of a line. That could indicate higher turnout this election. Beats me.

Also, seems McCain/Palin finally got someone to put out some signs.

I’d tell you how I voted but you could probably guess.

Nothing too exciting to note except that, honestly, can we have paper ballots for those who want them? Folks over the age of 70 aren’t too good on these newfangled voting gizmos. And everyone else has to wait on them. Just sayin’.

Transition Team

Jim Shepherd:

The Outdoor Wire has confirmed from confidential sources that the “transition team” for the Democratic candidate has already begun looking into the current approval system for firearms transactions. It seems the digital recordkeeping approval recently granted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) has piqued their curiosity. With a virtual Form 4473 in existence, we should be on the lookout for a new record-keeping initiative that will “simplify” the hassles of off-site digital record storage by allowing FFLs to, say, store the information on secure governmental servers. Of course, the government will never access the information.

If true, that’s frightening.
