A Transportation Security Administration employee at Memphis International Airport was arrested by airport police Wednesday after he was accused of carrying a handgun into the main terminal building.
The gun was found during a security check at the terminal’s “A” concourse in a bag belonging to TSA employee Richard Banks III. He told airport police that he forgot the handgun, a 9mm Glock 17, was in the bag.
His book notes his departure from the Bush administration in the wake of gun control cases going to the supreme court. Bush usually played lip service to gunnies, and at one point said he supported the renewal of the ban on weapons that look like assault weapons. Of course, Cheney has speculated that maybe it’s ok to limit magazine capacity as well.
Remember the guy who used his gun in self defense while working at Wal-Greens and who got fired? Now, he’s suing:
After he foiled a robbery by pulling a handgun out of his pocket, Benton Harbor pharmacist Jeremy Hoven said he was fired from his job at Walgreens.
Now, he’s fired back with a federal lawsuit against Walgreens alleging wrongful termination.
Special laws for special people. This concept should be offensive to everyone, not just libertarians.

Update: I am apparently a year and a half late on this story.
Most popular operating system ranked most attacked operating system by guys who sell protection.
Friends in larger cities are telling me that there are fights over food at grocery stores in light of the hurricane. I hope those are isolated events.
If you’re prepared for the zombie apocalypse, a hurricane is just a storm.
The governor does the right thing:
This order is adopted pursuant to my powers under Article 1 of Chapter 166A of the General Statutes and under Article 36A of Chapter 14 of the General Statutes. It does not trigger the limitations on weapons in G.S. § 14-288.7 or impose any limitation on the consumption, transportation, sale or purchase of alcoholic beverages.
Ray Nagan has some giant, uhm, gumption to offer people advice on weathering hurricanes.
And all you readers in the drop zone, be careful and stay safe.
In an update to this post, Tam points out that your head is actually pretty resilient and handgun calibers suck.
Also, from comments there, a reporter who shot herself in the head, on air with a 38 took 14 hours to die.

A third video of Officer Daniel Harless making death threats at a traffic stop emerges. Looks like he’ll merely get a slap on the wrist. Once is happenstance . . .
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
