Good vacation and fun with the family.
Irregularly scheduled content to commence.
Well, not really. Out of the country for a few days for a little vacation. Light blogging. Maybe none. We’ll see. Talk amongst yourselves.
If you’re in America and loan someone a gun, it’s not big deal. But in Connecticut, that’s a crime:
Detectives continued to investigate and found that the gun was owned by Nicolas Cappiello, 38, of North Haven. He said he gave the gun to Abriola to keep in her house, police said.
He turned himself in on an outstanding warrant June 29 and posted a $10,000 bond.
The right to bear arms includes the right to keep and carry ammunition and magazines holding more than 10 rounds for those arms, for both self-defense and to be ready to serve in a militia
Good. And also there’s this:
Disarming Californias law-abiding citizens is not a constitutionally permissible policy choice
I like this guy.
Let’s draw our guns on each other. Because training.
That dude is gonna get someone killed.
The GAO issued a statement on Glock’s protest of Sig winning the contract. They say the Sig performed better, had a better price, and Glock only submitted one gun.
If you’re going to make someone open their gun safe at gun point, you really should be prepared for when they open it.
New Glock 19 MHS 9mm & Glock 23 MHS .40 S&W. It has a manual safety. A 17 frame and a 19 slide. I’d dig it more without a manual safety. Now, it has four safeties. Seems redundant.

This is good advice. Knockdown power is a myth. And the best way to double the effectiveness of any gun is a follow up shot.
ATF has rolled out a van that can test guns and shell casings on the spot:
Six months after President Donald Trump threatened to send the feds to Chicago to fix the horrible carnage going on, city officials announced on Monday that theyve been getting some more federal crime-fighting aid in the form of a mobile firearms forensics van thats been roaming the streets for three weeks. The van, which the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) first rolled out in May, makes it possible to immediately test guns and shell casings at a crime scene. Its aimed at helping police departments around the country, an ATF spokesperson told Mother Jones.
It’s Chicago. They’ll be busy.
About gun ownership and NRA influence. A majority believe NRA has just the right amount or not enough influence.
Sadly, some people don’t realize this:
Edwards … admitted to officers that he pointed a gun at his friend’s head and pulled the trigger. But he told officers that he “did not believe the firearm would discharge without the magazine inserted.”
Also, don’t point guns at people.
SCOTUS denied cert in Peruta. One good thing to come of that is we now know where Neil Gorsuch comes down on guns, as he and Thomas dissented saying it’s time to put the issue to rest definitively.
And it wasn’t all bad, as the court did not grant cert in Binderup:
The case involved the loss of gun rights for individuals convicted of non-serious misdemeanors. The 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals had ruled that it violated the Second Amendment to deny such individuals their right to possess and purchase firearms. The Justice Department under former AG Loretta Lynch appealed that ruling.
Sure, it’s got a little bit of the crazy but it has instructions on building silencers. Of course, if you’re going to pay a $200 tax, you might want it made out of more than a drinking bottle.

Review: Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0 Pistol. I’m very tempted but I’ve got a lot tied up into my M&P collection.
The FBI’s report on the baseball shooting debunks the gun control talking points rather handily.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
