The Bee:
Here’s the story. So, what about bumpstocks?
wizardpc in comments: I was promised National Reciprocity and the Hearing Protection Act. I got a bumpstock ban. Word.
Apparently, ATF was not allowed to inspect the shooter’s weapons. This, according to Len Savage, is not good: ATF did not disclose that they had not examined the firearms prior to promulgating the rule, firearms designer and Historic Arms, LLC President Len Savage notes. And now that the comment period is closed should they go […]
In the early days of blogging, it was an effective counter to bias and misinformation. I’m convinced that the internet is why the gun control debate took a shift in the direction of the good guys in the early aughts and early teens. I think the internet in those days also was the reason for […]
The ATF guy who greenlighed the bumpstock: We could not find a way to classify it as a machine gun Do you guys not remember the mental gymnastics you went through on the street sweepers? Or your various whoopsies, like with the Akins Accelerator or pistol braces. I guess they just weren’t committed enough this […]
Remember way back in 2012 when David Gregory, clearly breaking DC law, held up an AR-15 magazine and showed it to the NRA’s Wayne LaPierre. He held it as though it had some magical killing power. It’s a box with a spring in it. Yup. All the righteous indignation over a box with a spring […]
Long time readers may remember the Akins Accelerator. If you don’t, the TLDR version is that it was a bumpfire stock for the Ruger 10/22 (the first I’d seen) except it had a spring to do the bumping. A sample was sent to ATF, who couldn’t get the thing to work, for approval. ATF initially […]
Some PSH over at Bloomberg’s fake grassroots effort on bumpfire stocks: AR-15 Lovers Are Getting Fully Automatic Thrills with Barely Legal Gadgets Bump fire devices let black rifles fire hundreds of rounds per minute. They’ve become hot accessories for the growing tactical weapons set. That truly is a dizzying piece.
Take an old Akins Accelerator stock and remove the spring. Cut the price in half. It’s a bumpfire stock now.
Remember the Akins Accelerator? It was a spring loaded bump fire stock that mimicked full auto. Well, ATF said the non-working version they tested was not an NFA weapon. It didn’t work because tech branch couldn’t figure it out, supposedly. Now, the stock sans spring could probably be used for bumpfire, which is basically what […]
84 year old grandmother with the Slide Fire bump fire stock: The SSAR looks like a good way to turn money into noise.
Here’s some pics of the bump-firing stock for the AR-15. Remington 700 The cutest thing you will see today. Bushmaster ACR bullpup?
I have this nice little lower receiver all built up and ready to go and an EOTech sitting around. The lower has an Vltor stock and a single point sling. I want to turn this one into a bug out carbine (even though some don’t think bug out guns are realistic). I want it to […]
A video of a guy bumpfiring a GLOCK I’m thinking, and gun folks help me out here, but wouldn’t adding the board, which is imitating a stock, make the weapon a short barreled rifle? Meanwhile, here’s another video showing bumpfiring a GLOCK with a stick.
The Akins Folks have posted the letter rescinding prior approval of the stock system for a Ruger 10/22 that facilitated bump-firing. They have the other approval letters and such too. Very inconsistent and, honestly, just made up as the ATF went along. Translation: Wait, it works? Then it’s a machine gun. By the rationale they’re […]
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
