Life in the future

Remember when Space Force sounded dumb? Well, Putin may have beaten us to the punch:

U.S. Says Small Russian Satellite A Space Weapon
Maneuvering satellite part of Moscow space warfare buildup

Russia has deployed a suspicious satellite the United States says is part of Moscow’s plans to attack orbiting satellites in a future conflict, a State Department official revealed in Geneva on Tuesday.

Yleem Poblete, assistant secretary of state for arms control, verification, and compliance, made the accusation in a speech declaring Moscow is promoting a draft treaty aimed at banning arms in space while advancing an array of space weaponry.

That’s a little scary.

Well, yeah

CBS Minnesota:

Minnesota set a record last year for the number of gun background checks the FBI conducted in the state.

More people are carrying guns than ever before, but the crime rate remains relatively low.

Funny how that’s how it always works out.

Well, OK

Han shot first. With a Glock.

Increasingly, this is turning into a nothingburger

The whole NRA is overrun with Russians tidbit doesn’t seem to be about much. Apparently, everyone democrats don’t like has Russian ties.

Boating accident?

A Democrat running for governor of Texas has apparently lost a gun that she was issued when sheriff. Only law enforcement should have guns, right?

More like this please

Seen at Reason:

West Virginia’s House of Delegates has impeached all four of the state’s Supreme Court justices, who allegedly abused their authority and used taxpayer funds for personal gain.

An actual response to .gov corruption? I am shocked.

Why are anti-gun activists so violent?

WSB TV:

She ran on responsible gun regulation, now she’s accused of killing her campaign treasurer

He was shot, of course. And it’s notable that her party affiliation is down there at the bottom.

Targeting political enemies

The latest:

New York and other states are targeting the NRA’s bottom line

Several states are examining how the NRA makes money on gun insurance policies, and New York is warning banks not to do business with the gun group.

I always thought the Carry Guard insurance seemed a bit, well, unusual. And I’m not certain how effective it would be. Regardless, being targeted by a sitting governor doesn’t sit well with me.

Gun Control Becomes Speech Control

Clinging to relevancy

The Brady Campaign To Remain Relevant claims 8 kids a day are killed by the made up term “familyfire”. They are, as you would likely guess, lying.

Another illegal mayor

Remember Mayors Against Guns? I’ve lost count of how many of those mayors later faced criminal charges. But here’s another one.

Good thing they caught him

Johnny Jihad was running a compound where he was training children to commit school shootings:

Authorities found 11 children and four adults living in “filthy” conditions at the compound Saturday in Amalia, New Mexico. Prosecutors also alleged in court documents that Wahhaj, 39, was teaching the children to commit school shootings. The documents claim Wahhaj was conducting weapons training with assault rifles at the compound with the children.

SAF all in on Kavanaugh

The Second Amendment Foundation:

Federal Judge Brett Kavanaugh is highly qualified to fill the U.S. Supreme Court vacancy created by the retirement of Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy, the Second Amendment Foundation said today, expressing hopes that the Senate will swiftly confirm the 53-year-old jurist to the high court bench.

We have looked at Judge Kavanaughs record, as a White House associate under President George W. Bush, and as a clerk at the U.S. Supreme Court for Justice Kennedy, and can find no fault with his background, said SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb. Its our opinion that President Donald Trump has made an excellent choice in his nomination of Judge Kavanaugh, and he would have a difficult time finding another candidate with his experience.

Is this the “tolerance” or the “diversity”?

CBS Sacramento:

An angry mother is speaking out after she says a Lodi High School history teacher targeted students wearing T-shirts advertising the National Rifle Association.

She was basically being attacked in class, said mother Charlene Craig.

Two sophomores were wearing the NRA shirts when they say they were singled out in class by their teacher, who started schooling them on why guns are bad.

And:

According to a statement from the Lodi Unified School District, the school administration reviewed the t-shirt in question and determined that it did not violate school dress code policy.

And she was kicked out of class. I hope they have a good lawyer to sue the school and teacher.

SAF and NRA suing another city in Washington State

The Second Amendment Foundation:

Another Washington state city is now being sued by the Second Amendment Foundation and National Rifled Association for violating the states 35-year-old preemption statute by adopting a local gun control ordinance. They filed a similar lawsuit against the City of Seattle last month.

Don’t take a knife to a gun fight

Or a sword, either.
