Michael’s Custom Holsters Tuckable IWB Holster

I’m a fan of The Hoster Site‘s stuff. But I did not know he made IWBs.

More on the suit about selling handguns across state lines

A decent summary. People in DC want to buy guns in TX because there’s only one shop in the district and it’s pricey.

Police militarization

In my state:

McMinn County is located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. It boasts beautiful scenery, but its sheriff’s department can boast something else.

The department received more military surplus guns than any other local department in the state last year.

“We actually reconfigured the whole armory to accommodate all of this,” said Sheriff Joe Guy.

Sheriff Guy oversees 31 officers and investigators, but his department received 161 army rifles and pistols, including 71 M16 rifles and 71 .45-caliber pistols.

NewsChannel 5 Investigates asked, “Why does your department need all these guns?”

Sheriff Guy responded, “Well, we don’t need this many. There was a little error in the order.”

The Sheriff said the Army surplus program doubled his initial order, but he hasn’t sent the guns back.

“They’re here as our department grows. We’ll have additional firearms for future officers,” Sheriff Guy said.

“responsible gun ownership”

Be careful when you leave America:

At 9:15 a.m., Ryan Shucard, press secretary to Rep. Tom Marino (R) of Pennsylvania, was arrested by Capitol Police after they say they discovered a Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun during the routine search required for entry into congressional buildings.

The police told Representative Marino’s office that the incident appeared to have been an accident, said Marino’s chief of staff, Bill Tighe. Mr. Shucard had no intention to use the gun, the police said according to Mr. Tighe, and it was not loaded.

And this:

“I think it is a situation where he lives in Virginia, and he transported the firearm into D.C. accidentally,” he added. “We’re very disappointed that he did not display responsible gun ownership.”

I wonder if he’ll get the David Gregory treatment?

The TSA at work

Wow:

You probably learned the 50 United States in elementary school— but don’t forget about the nation’s capital. An Orlando Transportation Safety Administration agent apparently needed a geography refresher after refusing to let a D.C. man through a security checkpoint last weekend because he didn’t recognize his District of Columbia driver’s license as a valid form of identification.

Justin Gray was flying home to D.C. from Orlando International Airport when according wftv.com, a TSA agent asked to see Gray’s passport because his D.C. driver’s license wasn’t a valid form of identification. Gray works as a reporter in Cox Media Group’s Washington bureau.

He probably thought it was one of those 57 states.
