Speaking of losing

A word I’ve not heard in a long time: Fisking.

I thought about that myself. I honestly think that writers have realized the new paradigm, and have started protecting themselves by writing in ways that don’t lend themselves to fisking.

I’ve certainly noticed less easy targets in the last few years.

  2. Kevin Baker Says:

Thanks for the link. Looks like 3 Boxes of BS had the same urge, just with a different idiot.

  3. Cargosquid Says:

I’ve been fisking the President’s speeches. I read them so you don’t have to.

    I’m generous that way.

  4. Seerak Says:

There’s no shortage of fisking opportunities. The issue is that pretty much everything that Leftists say has already been fisked — not unbelievable in the least, seeing as they haven’t had a new idea since the 1800’s.

Those capable of doing the fisking probably just look at it all and say “What, this bullshit again?”

Come to think of it, I think Unc had a post saying something like that just this past week.

  5. Bubblehead Les Says:

What’s ironic is that it seems that all the Antis can do is whine and pontificate, yet they don’t have the Intellectual Capacity to try and “Fisk” the Pro-Gun side.

Yet THEY want to have a “Reasoned Discourse?” When their Main Argument ALWAYS seems to come down to the size of one’s Penis?

    Right.

  6. rickn8or Says:

Cargosquid, thank you for throwing yourself on that grenade for us.

Well, they know what upsets THEM, so they assume that others have the same problem.

    This.

Many of them project their own qualities/flaws on us. My attorney is an anti-2A, because he says if he had a gun he would use it out of anger.

I explained that there are many of us that wouldn’t.

  9. wizardpc Says:

    My attorney is an anti-2A…

Is he being paid by someone else? Are there no other lawyers available, perhaps one without the apparent violent psychosis he claims to have?

  10. Skip Says:

My attorney [ex DA] is the president of our gun club.

  11. NotClauswitz Says:

I want Skip’s Attorney!! 🙂 Cargosquid, don’t throw yourself on the grenade, pick it up and sell it at a gun-show – or walk it back to the ATF.

  12. Ron W Says:

HL writes,”My attorney is an anti-2A, because he says if he had a gun he would use it out of anger.”

Then it would seem your attorney would be pro-choice. That is, he doesn’t use guns himself, but the right of others to do so shouldn’t be violated.

    This.

I used to have a fisking party every week or so, until I realized I was saying the same things to the same kinds of arguments over and over and over again. Got boring. Blogging should not be boring.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
