First amendment damaged in storm clean up
Officials order people to stop taking photos.
A bit back, I mentioned I got the Primo Junior Grill. This thing is awesome. I can vary the temperature from 150 degrees to 750 degrees and maintain it. I’ve used it as a smoker, a grill, and an oven. It is ready to go in ten minutes. I’ve done steaks, Boston butts, burgers, chicken, various veggies, smoked salmon, smoked sausage, bacon, and all manner of things.
It uses lump charcoal, which I’d never used before. The advantage being that you don’t have to wait for all the coals to turn gray. Just get your fire going, adjust the temperature and cook away. It’s very versatile. Some pics to make you go get lunch:

Plan on doing a pizza soon.
Majority wins on CCW in Illinois, but more than that is needed:
The House voted 65-32 in favor of the concealed-carry bill, with one member voting “present.” But the measure needed 71 votes to pass because it would pre-empt home-rule of cities.
One voted “present”? Obama keep his day job?
Much like you shouldn’t call an ATM an ATM Machine (because that makes it an Automatic Teller Machine Machine), you shouldn’t call it a BUG Gun either. Unless it maybe is the backup gun to your backup gun.
And don’t get me started on VIN Number or PIN Number.
Tam on not going to the range regularly. Also, last few times I made it to the range, I discovered something: vision in my right eye is not what it used to be. I’d have never noticed was I not trying to line up a front sight and a target.
I shit you not LOL – I fell for it:
The Golden Girls: How One TV Show Turned A Generation Of American Boys Into Homosexuals
Update: That’s pretty funny.
Ron Paul at GOP debate agrees heroin and prostitution are an exercise of liberty. He was cheered and applauded.
Speaking of Chicago
Mayor Daley opposes gun ownership. But he has no problem asking the city to provide him with around the clock security detail after he retires.
Such hypocrisy.
Smyrna gun shop loses another round in Bloomberg suit. I’m trying to figure out how this is happening in NY court.
Five steps, $265 not counting the gun, and waiting for up to 94 days.
Seems ripe for a lawsuit to me.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation tells us that the Violence Policy Center’s bogus study is, uhm, bogus. Of course, we knew that.
A look at the Pakistani gun market, where they make AK-47s.
Aunt B.: Hank Williams Junior is the nexus of everything that’s wrong with white people
Anti-gunners, who will talk about “morals,” “compassion,” “human rights” etc. are full of shit. Telling the most vulnerable among us that they must walk amongst the wolves without the benefit of an egalitarian, equalizing tool is the antithesis of morality, compassion, or human rights.
Read the whole thing.
Looks like they’re going for a zero on the Brady Campaign point system.
Which reminds me, since AZ has a 0 already, if their Gov had not vetoed two pro gun bills, would they actually get negative scores?
Words that are fun to say: Chiappa
Guns N Roses. Well, OK, not roses really. But still, flowers.
Seems the gun used to kill Osama (a Sig p226) is popular now. But they couldn’t have used that. It’s a 9MM and all those tactical food court teams tell that the 9mm is only good for wounded kittens. And they just bounce off.
Mentioned them yesterday but last night I tried them out on an onion and some mushrooms. I’ve never cut onions that thin before.
It was a good time. Smart and funny people. Lots to do and I was busy.
I’d like to thank Dustin at LuckyGunner and Dan at GunUp for picking up the tab at my little shindig. It wasn’t expected but I do appreciate it. And thanks to all the readers and bloggers who stopped by, it’s good to meet people I’ve known for a long time for the first time in person.
I’d also like to thank Iain at CrimsonTrace for the Friday get together. It was a good time. And I was surprised to learn that Iain (who won TopShot, if you didn’t know) actually reads my site. And, because of him, I’ll never shave my head.
And a big thanks to Breda for putting on a helluva party. And thanks to the Second Amendment Foundation for the accommodations.
And another thank you to Old NFO for, well, he knows what he did.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
