Cemetery tries some black powder loads in his AR with video.

And a look at clean up.

Before, he ran a 1911 in black.

Reminds me of Harry Turtledove’s book, “Guns of the South” and trying to run AKs on black powder.

  2. Bram Says:

My first M16 barely ran on modern powder.

    Boy just ain’t right!

    I think that’s why I like him! 🙂

I seem to recall that Oleg’s buddies have tried running .458 SOCOM on black, but can’t find it now.

At the moment I can’t think of a worse platform than the AR for black powder. Still; why not try it if you don’t mind the cleanup? I’m with Weer’d on this. I’ve considered loading 30-30 cases full of BP, but then I think of taking the ’94 all apart…

If you really want to use black though, a gun that was made for it is a pretty good choice. The little cartridges designed for smokeless just won’t have the same energy when loaded with black. Those that’s designed for it have more powder capacity. I know I know– it’s fun to play around.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
