Speaking of Glocks & demand

At the GSSF, I was talking to some of the Glock guys about how their sales were up 36% over last year. Well, they told me that right now Glock is backordered over 200,000 pistols. Wow.

Markie Marxist sez: “This is *not* the kind of change we were hoping for! This makes us Marxists look like we don’t know what we’re doing! The one segment of American industry that has most benefited from Obama’s election is the gun and ammunition industry! That wasn’t supposed to happen! Pardon me while I writhe on the ground and froth at the mouth a bit: Arrrgh! Glock! Arrrgh! Gun industry! Arrrgh! Ammo industry! Arrrgh! NRA! Arrrgh! Private gun owners! Arrrgh! Gun sales! Arrrgh! Ammo sales! Arrrgh! ! Arrrgh! NRA! Arrrgh! Private gun owners! Arrrgh! Gun sales! Arrrgh! Arrrgh! Arrrgh!”

Well, sure. Glocks are like potato chips.

If you’ve never had a chip, you think “maybe I’ll try just one.” America has had unknown #s of people try their first glock. And now they are in line for their second or third.

Talked to a friend in Wartburg who called about CCW classes and there is around a 6 month wait in TN. Not sure if it is for background checks or the period of time needed to process all of the recent CCW graduates…

From a 28 April press release from Ruger:
“Our backlog grew to 458,900 units and $136.3 million at the end of the first quarter of 2009, from 175,900 units and $47.8 million at the end of 2008. “

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
