Interesting self defense shooting, with video. Seems a pretty clear cut case. If you’re attacked by three people, use of force is justified. Being that it was caught on video, it’ll make for an interesting court case based on testimony of the guys who attacked the shooter. And, of course, when the police show up and ask for your weapon, you give it to them.

Except when said policeman is noted as being off-duty and working the door at a local nightclub, it complicates matters a bit.
Would you hand your weapon to a bouncer who claimed to be a police officer?

I didn’t have that key bit of information when I wrote that. That mitigates things a bit.

Not really.
At least in Texas if you tell them “‘I got a gun,
I’m a man and I’ll show you.’ , that is provoking the argument and disallows you to claim self-defense!
Hint hint… murder.
So it may be the same in Virgina. So don’t get into arguements with people and start fights.

The surveillance video makes it look the the four guys following Ung and his friend down the street were flanking him getting ready to lay on a beat down.
This shooting appears clean. I hope Mr. Ung is cleared of any and all charges he faces.
