And if you’re on a government list, you shouldn’t be allowed to write stupid editorials

The paper of making up the record bleats that folks should be denied their civil rights because their name appears on a list that cannot be reviewed and that is kept secret and that has been proven to be error-ridden. It is, you see, the evil gun lobby who, by virtue of looking out for civil rights, that isn’t sane.

Heaven forbid that it require due process to restrict rights. And we should simply take some bureaucrats word that so-and-so is a terrorist.

Additionally, they screech that the evil NRA is gearing up to use its first amendment rights to let other people know their position. You can’t have large civil rights organizations hitting the airwaves and telling people why they oppose such restrictions. And they shouldn’t get their political message out. That’s the media’s job, dammit!

ETA: Meanwhile, Times Square bomber was on the list. But was taken off.

    Great post

The article says suspects on the no-fly list purchased more than 1,100 weapons in the last six years…… I am guessing this is where Bloomy got his stat when testified before congress couple days ago and said “1,100 terrorists bought guns”.

You know, those evil doers on the list shouldn’t be allowed to spread their message either….

Wonder what would happen if the editorial staff of the NYT ended up on that list and couldn’t work anymore. The 1st Amendment is so much more dangerous than the 2nd. The freedom to speak allows one to convince OTHERS to commit violence……

I should start this response with”ZIEG HIEL” but instead I will just point out that citizens can make lists too……..enuf said

  6. junyo Says:

Why not? The current government asserts that it can kill people without a trial, so what’s a little loss of civil rights?

    Aw c’mon,junyo,

Obama would never order such a thing. I mean at the big Saturday night White House Correspondents Dinner, he only joked about it:

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
