USA Today beclowns themselves
Seems that they think people are wont to add chainsaws to their AR-15s. Hilarity ensues.

The Air Force failed to report him to the FBI, hence he could pass a background check.
He also escaped from a mental health facility.
And, lastly, Devin Kelley, Cleared to Buy Guns Despite Beating His Wife and Son, Couldn’t Get a Carry Permit Because He Beat His Dog.
After a night of drinking, and FBI supervisor discovers a woman stole his gun.
It would be nice to think that with a pro-gun president and pro-gun majorities in Congress, statehouses, and governors mansions across the country, the battle to secure the Second Amendment is won. But as long as decent, law-abiding gun owners are blamed for the acts of deranged murderers, the battle can never end.
Instead, no action for the pro rights side. But Chuck Grassley wants to ban bump stocks. And Trump’s pentagon pick says it’s insane you can buy the most popular sporting rifle in America.
I had important things to do like work and binge watching Stranger Things 2.
This time, physically:
U.S. Sen. Rand Paul has five rib fractures and lung contusions as a result of an apparent assault Friday by a neighbor at Paul’s home in Bowling Green, a spokesman for Kentucky’s junior senator said Sunday.
And he was shot, along with other congress-critters, at a while back.
So, another mass shooting and folks are furiously trying to pin the political tail on the loon. The perp was a prohibited person due to a dishonorable discharge. Yet he passed the background check for the AR he used. He was, however, denied a carry permit.
The shooter was chased and shot by two local guys. They had an AR-15.
And, of course, the usual howling to pass laws that wouldn’t have prevented it is starting.
In this case, though, the lack of one is a good thing:
Still pointing the gun at the workers, Pouncy stooped over to collect the cash, Antonietti said. Shifting the gun in his waistband as he ran out, he apparently pulled the trigger, firing a bullet that struck him in the penis, Antonietti said
Shoppers pulled guns in response to Thornton Walmart shooting, but police say that slowed investigation.
Authorities had to eliminate possible suspects from surveillance video
You mean the police had to do their job?

Yup, that’s what the gun controllers want.
Everything they don’t want to ban, they want to make mandatory.
The Closing the Bump Stock Loophole Act. It’s not a loophole, unless loophole means something we don’t like. As to the bill, it looks like it would classify the devices as NFA items, subject to the $200 tax and all that. The bill was written with ATF “guidance and advice”.
This looks like a better* of other proposals that could outlaw after market triggers.
And, as I’ve said before, if this passes, gun owners need to get something in return.
* I’m using that word loosely. It’s still a dumb law. But at least it looks like it’s written by someone who isn’t ignorant of current law.
An insurance policy offered by the National Rifle Association is under scrutiny by insurance regulators after gun-control groups raised questions about how its being marketed.
Carry Guard insurance was launched earlier this year by the nations most powerful gun lobbying group and is being promoted to gun-owners as needed coverage to help cover civil and criminal legal costs in cases when they shoot someone in self-defense.
Gun-control advocates have called it murder insurance, because they believe it would lull gun owners into a false sense of security and encourage them to shoot rather than try to avoid confrontations.
New York state financial regulators have launched an investigation into how its being marketed and whether the NRA is illegally receiving commissions without proper licensing.
I don’t know anything about insurance law but this pretty much tells me that Carry Guard will be illegal in NY.
Seen at Joe’s: The Impact of Mass Shootings on Gun Policy:
We find no significant effect of mass shootings on laws enacted when there is a Democrat-controlled legislature.
There’s a lot more.
Suicide prevention group tells anti-gunners to take a hike:
Their organizations legislative stance related to guns is inconsistent with our efforts, said Jessica van der Stad, regional director of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. As a suicide prevention organization, we are not in the business of saying who can and cannot own firearms. We are in the business of saving lives.
Good.
A lawyer who gets NYC gun permits for celebrities has been ordered to turn over his client list. This should be interesting, if made public.
I haven’t commented on the taking a knee thing. Because I don’t care. Or watch the NFL. But that seems to have made their popularity drop. So, double down against middle America and start advocating gun control.
A featureless AR pattern rifle for those who live in California.
The future is stupid.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
