Last week, Tennesseans heard “a great disturbance in the Force” as a small group of House legislators killed three specific bills – constitutional carry, permitless open carry, and improved civil immunity. All three bills were killed in the same House subcommittee – The House Civil Justice Subcommittee – on March 29.

Funny how all those republicans are pro-gun when running for office. But when it comes time to do pro-gun stuff, they change their tune.

Well, if they can’t keep track of the guns they’re giving to criminals in Mexico, I’m not sure I’m all that surprised to learn that they can’t track or account for their informants.

P320 Blows Up But Keeps On Working

A five year old was suspended for pretending a stick was a gun.

A four year old brought a shell casing to school and was suspended. And Child Services was contacted. At least it wasn’t MA. The four year old would have gone to jail.

A TSA screener in Atlanta missed a loaded handgun in a woman’s bag. And there’s this:

She self-reported to police and officers showed up at the gate to confiscate her gun and bag.

Jackson told them she had a permit from Alabama, but did not have it with her.

Police arrested her and charged her with unlawful possession of a handgun.

This seems to happen enough that if I ever find myself in the secure area and had a gun, I doubt seriously that I’d tell anyone.

Well, the frame. It shoots but I wonder for how long.

M-44s are spring-activated devices that release cyanide when they are activated through upward pressure or pulling. The US Department of Agriculture uses the devices to control coyotes and other predators.

So, the USDA placed these around the edge of a property line and didn’t put up a sign or notify people who lived in the adjoining neighborhood?

When Does the Pistol Slide Start to Move?

M&P 2.0. I’m curious to see how her review goes. As yet, I’ve seen no reason to upgrade from my version 1.0.

M1915 Howell Automatic Rifle

So, I snagged a JM Custom Kydex holster for the Sig P229, which was my very first carry gun. And today I carried it for the first time. The old Sig doesn’t have any gizmos or doodads on it. As Tam (I think) would say, there are no lights, lasers, tasers, phasers or wind speed indicators on it. Kind of nice having a minimalist sort of carry gun. It’s less obtrusive than the M&P with a Trijicon and a TLR-1 on it.

But a question for AIWB guys and gals: What do you do when driving? If I had to draw while in a vehicle, I’d have to go through the extra movement of unbuckling a seat belt, as opposed to just leaning forward as I could do with my 3:00 carry rig. And, it seems to me, that were I to get in a collision, I’m looking at a broken hip from the force of the GripZone^tm being thrust at me thanks to the seat belt. Anyone know of anytime someone AIWB carrying had such a car accident? I’d be curious to know if that is a real thing or if I’m overthinking the whole thing.

I’m happy to report I was not killed in the streets.

Did the Single-Stack Nine Kill the Carry Revolver?

A fair point, I think, for the civilian market and police.

Not for me. I had a single stack 9mm for a while (an Shield with a laser). But I found that when I wanted to go smaller, I really wanted to go small and pocket carry. The single stack 9mms aren’t suited to that for me and based on how I dress. So I’ll probably end up picking up a snubby of some kind and a pocket holster for those places where I can’t carry a gun.

But if I’m going to strap on a holster, I really see no reason to not carry a full size gun with a lot more BBs and a more pleasing grip.

So, a bunch of lefties, protesting Trump, decided to openly carry rifles at the Capitol. I’m glad they support the right to own high capacity magazines.
