Still doing the happy dance

The ban is gone! Yet the AP still spreads misinformation about it. A bet: Every murder covered in the press going forward will be the result of an assault weapon. Check out the Yahoo slideshow.

What you will see from now on, in every story it even vaguely applies to, is something like “This weapon was previously banned under the recently-expired AWB.” It’ll be like those “The driver was not wearing a safety belt.” statements you used to see for a while.

    Heh…gotta love this pic of “assault-style” rifles. Let’s see…

Flash-hider? Nope. Bayonet lug? Nope. Collapsible stock? Nope. These rifles were likely never banned.

I’ve decided it’s not “liberal” media; it’s CLUELESS media.

The local news here just had a bit about the AWB expiration. They showed John Kerry talking about how, by letting the ban expire, George Bush has “made the job of terrorists easier…and the job of our police harder.”

Yes, now terrorism will be so much easier when you can have a bayonet lug AND a flash hider on your varmint rifle. What idiocy.

CBS News just had a report on it, which differed from the VPC’s talking points only in lacking the vitriol.

Among the evil looking guns they showed was a .50 BMG rifle. Yeah, that’s a favorite for drive-by shootings.

They showed clip after clip of cops and Kerry talking about how it’s easier now for terrorists to arm themselves. Why why why don’t these news shows ever point out that:
    1) the guns were ALWAYS available
    2) no terrorist or criminal gave a CRAP about whether their gun had a flash hider or bayonet lug on it.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
