I’ll admit that “pandemic” is probably the weakest area of my preps. Got some masks/gloves, etc., but probably only enough to get a family or 5 thru a couple weeks. Our longer-term ‘plan’ is to simply shutter ourselves at home, but eventually *someone* will have to go out. Once the nuttiness of this one subsides I intend to address it more seriously.

Imagine my surprise when I log in to Luckygunner the other day and find that 5.56 has been pushed up to forty cents a round.

    2,036 percent. Holy shit, people.

Rubbing alcohol. 70% or higher. I always get 91%. Sure, there are other bug-killing disinfectants, but this is one you can use on your skin as well as doorknobs and stair rails.

And I know that this brilliantly well-informed commenteriat already knows this, but it’s worth repeating. “Proof” is not “percent”. 100 proof is 50% alcohol, not 100%, and not strong enough to kill viruses.

I am still pretty well stocked from the last Baktun.

Now I know the statist little assholes like that mayor in Illinois follow the never let a crisis go to waste playbook. I’m also as prone to Burt Gummer tendencies as the next guy. It’d be nice if people would dial it down a notch or two though.
