Heckler & Koch to build a gun factory in Georgia

So reports Spiegel Online. You’ll have to translate it to English. But basically, they’re spending $23M on their first factory abroad. And they like Trump’s trade policies.

Cool beans. Hooray for Georgia — and Trump!

    Sweet.

Maybe we’ll finally be able to buy H&K products without going through all of the German export and US import restrictions?

  4. Miles Says:

    Not really surprising.
That ‘factory’ will most probably be connected to their rather large warehouse they’ve had in Columbus (read ‘right outside Fort Benning’) for quite some time now.
That warehouse supplied not just the Marine depot down the road in Albany, but certain ‘Special Mission Units’ that field the HK 416 and a few other HK weapon systems.

Now, maybe, we’ll get some of their rifle designs on the U.S. market, at more ‘reasonable’ prices and without the German Government’s Three Stooges/Marx Brothers antics with their export rules.

Does this mean that they don’t hate us, and we don’t suck? Or is this just a convenient way to get closer to our money, even though we suck and they hate us?

  6. Crawler Says:

    Good news indeed.

I’m sure it would be a safe bet to place that H&K hates me. I quit looking at self defense pistols seven years ago after I bought my third HK, and I’m pretty sure seven years from now I still won’t be looking.

Mercy me! If I were in the job market, and saw all these companies coming down ‘yonder, how could I EVER make a decision who to work for???

What did Charlie Daniels sing? “The South is Gonna Do It Again …”.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
