Two Atlantics in one

So, the Atlantic says that the AR-15 is too powerful for civilians to use, even though it had written a bit a while back on how the platform sucked for soldiers.

Well, when you’re as ignorant as a rock, anything goes.

  2. Ron W Says:

They should say the same thing about cars and liquor.

  3. Sigivald Says:

Horribly deadly military tools only good for mass murder and crime!

Which is why every police car has one.

  4. matt Says:

The police are a bunch of murderers keeping the black man down, which is why only they should have AR-15’s?

  5. Ron W Says:

An effective self defense tool, so only criminals and tyrants are threatened by them being in the hands of FREE PEOPLE. And BTW, an AR-15 is not a “powerful” rifle since it uses the .223 or 5.56 cartridge. A 30.06 scoped bolt action rifle (usually for hunting) is a much more powerful rifle.

  6. Deaf Smith Says:

Considering the power of the 5.56 .aka. .223, that means my 30/30 and .308 must be horribly overpowered for the brownnosers at the Atlantic. Bet they want them banned next.

See folks, ban ‘military rifles’ cause they are powerful, ban hunting rifles cause they are ‘sniper rifles’, ban shotguns cause they spray multiple projectiles with one pull of the trigger, and ban handguns cause they can be concealed.

And yes, that is exactly how they will operate.

  7. James Says:

But, most importantly, deprive us of firearms so they can boxcar us to the re-education centers. Japanese-Americans are well aware of this.

  8. Nighthawk Says:

I think Deaf Smith said it all.
    Much better than I could

Did you notice that The Atlantic apparently didn’t even bother to write their own story? Looks like the piece was reprinted verbatim from one of Bloomberg’s gun control ventures, “The Trace”. The corporate media is really phoning it in these days.

That suggests some of the howlers in that piece (like calling a centerfire .22 a “high-caliber” rifle) aren’t stemming from typical media ignorance, but are deliberate falsehoods.

  10. Ron W Says:

@Deaf Smith, Correct! As the author of “Boston’s Gun Bible”, Kenneth Royce, wrote, “if the anti- gunners really knew anything about guns, they would be trying to ban scoped bolt-action rifles.”

Having no standards other than a lust for power makes it easy for leftists to assert multiple contradictory ideals simultaneously, without cognitive dissonance, moral qualms, ethical concerns, rational explanations, logical conclusions, or even a purpose.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
