What caliber for shark?

Sebastian posits that most people, even gun nuts, do not carry at the beach. And that the Tunisia beach massacre could be a terrorist template used here.

I always have a gun with me at the beach. Because the beach usually has a bunch of drunk people on it and thinks can go tango uniform in that type of scene. I do so by using this maxpedition bag which has a place just for a gun. It’s, obviously, off-body carry. While I don’t like the off body carry, it has its places. I’ve also stored them in the side pocket of a cooler. I tend to make sure I clean the gun when we get back in town due to salt and sand and general beachery.

What caliber for shark? Someone get me a set of calipers and a torpedo.

Guns go into a ziplock in a cooler, right by the water bottles. Wouldn’t swim with one, but not everyone goes into the water at once.

If you listen to John Ringo and his team of consultants for his novels, 15-foot hammerhead = .45 H&K automatic pistol at about 60 feet down.

I wouldn’t want to think about firing anything smaller at that depth.

I’d say a bag stick. .44 cal will do fine.

If not that, a large and SHARP knife of maybe 10 inch blade length.

And maybe a few flash-bang grenades.

Mythbusters did several shows on different calibers in water. 9mm may have been tops in range.

And the most likely terrorists, according to DHS, will not be obvious to spot.
