Godspeed, Sarah Brady

Sarah Brady has died. We were on opposite teams and your team was on the wrong side of history. Your namesake’s organization has turned into joke. My condolences to the family.

  1. JTC Says:

A fitting eulogy for a person and organization built on lies…more lies:

“In the history of our nation, there are few people, if any, who are directly responsible for saving as many lives as Sarah and Jim,” said Dan Gross, the president of the Brady Campaign and Center to Prevent Gun Violence, in a statement.

“There are countless people walking around today who would not be were it not for Sarah Brady’s remarkable resilience, compassion and – what she always said she enjoyed the most – her hard work in the trenches with this organization, which she continued right up to the very end,” he said.

  2. Mr Evilwrench Says:

My condolences go to the family for having been subject to her in the first place, but as one of my enemies, I have a hard time seeing this as less than a bright spot in history.

  3. The Freeholder Says:

“…an honorable American…” Great Bleeding Ghu the NRA is full of it. Sarah Brady and her ilk are the blood enemies of freedom, and we are better off without them. I shall not shed even a crocodile tear.

  4. Walpurgis Says:

I dunno. I can, unlike my enemies, be gracious to the fallen. No need to descend into the type of commentary that the extreme left would be spouting off if a very pro-gun figure had died.

She believed in what she fought for (I hope), and even tho we fought on different sides and different battlefields, I honor her service to an ideal, even if I don’t hold it.

  5. Robert Says:

The article was about her passing on, but almost every one of the pictures had only her husband in them….

  6. HiddenHills Says:

    “Meaningless! Meaningless!”
    says the Teacher.
    “Utterly meaningless!
    Everything is meaningless.”

    Ecclesiastes 1:2

  7. Jeffersonian Says:

I’m sure her family feels a loss and I’d like to pass my condolences on to them. She was, however, a terrible person who most likely was responsible for the deaths of dozens, if not hundreds of innocent persons who could no longer afford or have access to the tools of self defense. I will not mourn her passing.

  8. Backwoods Engineer Says:

She will have to answer in Judgement for the freedom she tried to take from Americans. I am content to leave that responsibility for her judgement to God, where it belongs.

  9. Justaguy Says:

    FUCK THAT!!!

I will not be kind, I will speak ill of the dead when the dead deserve it.

Ding Dong the witch is dead!!!

  10. Huck Says:

“I dunno. I can, unlike my enemies, be gracious to the fallen.”

Not I! Only honorable adversaries deserve respect. And she was far from honorable.

An old saying; “While I don’t celebrate the death of others, I do believe that there are those whom the world is better off without.” ‘Nuff said.

  11. mekender Says:

I am sure that she suffered a lot due to what happened to her husband… But using that as a platform to wage a decades long war on people’s rights, people who had nothing to do with her husband’s shooting, is the very definition of evil in my eyes.

  12. Bubblehead Les Says:

One of the news stories I read gave her quote about her phone call to the NRA where (paraphrasing) she “Vowed to Destroy that Evil Organization!”

Well, since I plan on being in Nashville next week for the ANNUAL NRA Meetings, along with 60,000+ of my Closest PRO-RKBA Friends, perhaps her TRUE Legacy should be carved on her Headstone:

    “EPIC FAIL!”

  13. mostly cajun Says:

You and I usually see eye to eye, but here, I depart.

    Honor was not in her.

She parlayed a tragedy into a personal stage and a lucrative gravy train.

    Period.

  14. Will Says:

The Brady’s were coattail figures. When you literally walk in the shadow of politicians or celebrities, you must accept that you could end up as collateral damage. She had no business complaining about it. It’s a package deal, unstated normally, but very real.

  15. Jake Says:

    Good riddance.

  16. Braden Lynch Says:

Nice people talk about her being a political opponent. That’s wrong!

Given that she wanted to destroy the Second Amendment rights of Americans, I don’t call that type of person a mere political opponent.

I call them something not so nice. Perhaps “Un-American” is the best term that fits this type of life-long anti-freedom activity.

  17. Crawler Says:

I remember her infamous, “For Me, But Not for Thee”, incident. She bought a new hunting rifle for her son as a Christmas gift. Naturally, when that news broke, the “straw purchase” claims from her opposition were numerous and rampant.

    The D.C. self-appointed Anti-Constitutional Queen is dead.

    Long live Lady Liberty.

  18. Heath J Says:

Good riddance to an evil enemy.

That woman knew exactly what she was about.

  19. Andrew Says:

While I completely disagree with her stand on guns in the US, I will give her the credit for staying with her man.

  20. W. Fleetwood Says:

The truly important question is; Did they remember the oak stake? If they forgot the stake She’ll be back!

  21. Chris Says:

Good riddance you low life cunt. If it was up to her and scum like her none would be able to defend themselves and families. Could you imagine the free reign the animals would have . She was one of the ivory tower living dummies who have no idea what life is like for many normal ppl subjected to being victims at random

  22. Jim Scrummy Says:

May she rest in peace. Other than that I have nothing else nice to say…

  23. Stuart the Viking Says:

Really, the pro-gun movement has come a long way. How many states have gone from no-issue to shall-issue? How many states have embraced constitutional carry? The ill-conceived assault weapons ban was a pain, but in my view, it became more of a wake up call to the pro-gun masses and an example of just how ridiculous the opposite movement had become (do they REALLY think that cosmetic features such as a pistol grip or a bayonet lug have any effect on how lethal a firearm is? How dumb can someone be?)

I have to say, in spite of her intentions, Sarah Brady did more FOR our movement by kicking our asses into gear than she ever managed for her own movement. What legacy does she really have?

    I choose not to hate.

Perhaps you confuse “honorable” with “correct”.

It was widely considered that Erwin Rommel was an honorable (and admirable) fighter, in World War 2.

He was nevertheless fighting to help Hitler conquer and hold Europe and Africa.

I’m absolutely sure that Sarah Brady thought with all honesty that she was doing a good thing, for good reasons.

    I think she was wrong.

But I don’t think she was insincere; and sincere effort to do good is honorable.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
