I see you’re familiar with bigotry

Bill Mason, bigot:

What I believe is that the vast majority of gun nuts, especially those who think they have to carry a gun while in public, and I know or have known many, are mostly older white guys, racists, who are afraid of a list of imaginary boogie men: blacks – especially black teenage boys in hoodies and sagging pants – surely they are all “street corner gangsters;” Hispanics – surely they are all illegals and wetbacks; white teenage boys in hoodies and sagging jeans, white trash, communists, Democrats, women (of all races), etc.

I see some hardcore projection there.

  2. towerclimber37 Says:

wow..this guy’s got some serious problems!!

So the police are there to protect you? really?
    Not so says SCOTUS- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castle_Rock_v._Gonzales

I carry a gun for the same reason I have a fire extinguisher in the house..both are loaded, btw.

  3. emdfl Says:

Funny how “those guys” always seem to know what us eeevil self-defenders are afraid of; much self-projection going on, ya think?

  4. ATLien Says:

If I knew someone like him, and called me a racist in the paper, he’d have a lot of damn explaining to do.

  5. Mike Says:

Sooo, he’s saying he hangs out with a lot of racists — ARMED racists?

I think this guy needs to be reported to DHS. He fits the profile: associates with racists, is around guns, and appears to be angry about something.

    Haul him in!

  6. nk Says:

“older white guys”. I’m a month short of 56, my cane and brace shout out victim. I can’t run and I cannot bring a punch all the way up from my foot, like I could not all that long ago. It’s not racism, jackass, it’s necessity.

  7. BtheBeast Says:

Personally, I resent the “older white guys” comment. I’m under 30, and I’ve been carrying for years. I live in a small city, and my neighborhood has more cops per-capita than any other neighborhood in town. But that doesn’t stop burglaries on my street. Dang straight I have a 1911 on my hip all day. It transfers to my nightstand at night; and I have an AR 4 steps from my bed on the wall in my closet. The threats out there are not imagined.

And besides the young guys, what about women: the fastest growing gun-ownership demographic? For 8 years, my wife just let me be the protector, and didn’t care much about getting her own CHL, but dang if she didn’t turn into Momma Bear when she got pregnant. Her M&P never leaves her side, either.

  8. Will Says:

Anybody else realize that what he calls “imaginary boogie men” are all real things? Does he think that the people in that list don’t really exist and that’s why he doesn’t need a weapon? I mean seriously, he calls them “imaginary boogie men,” yet they are all real. I know women (of all races) are real. I know Democrats are real. I know the rest are real. I’m not saying that those people are what I’m afraid of, just that they are real people that he seems to think we have made up to scare people. I wish we had made up Democrats. They could be something out of a scary movie!

  9. rickn8or Says:

nk, I hear ya. 59, no cane, no brace, but with a (for now) partially paralyzed left leg. Can’t run, and taekwondo is pretty much out of the question. Too young to die, and too old to take an ass-kickin’. And around here, those “boogie men” aren’t imaginary. Damn right I’m armed.

  10. BobG Says:

His stupidity, ignorance, and bigotry are both epic and awesome in scale.

  11. Ambulance Driver Says:

Someone needs to introduce him to Rick Ector.

  12. TomcatTCH Says:

They can walk up to a woman and say “want to see or touch my big gun; or if with a crowd of the guys in a bar say: “alright guys, lay’em out on the edge of a pool table and see who has the big one!”

And I always thought the smaller ones where more appealing!

Gosh, I must be a bad gun guy for not knowing it was “bigger is better”.

  13. MAJ Mike Says:

    BITE ME, Bill Mason!!!

If you don’t like firearms, don’t own any. You don’t like concealed carry, then don’t jump through all the hoops to obtain a license.

The Lib-Cong feel compelled to force their values on everyone else.

Yes, I’m an old (62) white guy. I’m not a bigot and I’ve carried a pistol since I was 21. I just did it legally once Texas approved a CHL law in 1996. You might call that illegal, I call it civil disobediance.

So, I hope you continue to be a hateful bigot until Darwin’s Law kicks in.

  14. j c barber Says:

bet he models his mothers clothes in the closet and his wifes out in the bedroom and would crawl under the table with new reporters if under attack….scuse me time to take my daytime guns off and put on my sleeping guns,,ain’t life grand!!!

  15. nk Says:

    rickn8or,

I’ve owned a gun since I was sixteen or so. I have punched out two punks at the same time. (They punched me back hard. 😉 ) This guy’s a meaningless clown.

  16. BiLL Says:

Every thing I said in my letter has been reinforced by comments in this forum. Me, I did my 22 years in the service, Viet Nam, carried a gun, sometimes two. Probably shot more weapons than any poster on this forum: 22, 25, 9mm, 45, 38, 44, Thompson contender, Swedish K, 30 carbine, M1, M14, 40 mm grenade launcher, Mini 14,Thompson sub, 45 grease gun, 60 mortar, 81 mortar, 4.2 mortar, 120 mortar, 105 How, 155 How, 8 inch How, 170mm gun, M16, 410, 20, 16, 12 and 10 gauge shotguns. Have never felt the need or the danger to carry a weapon–except for those years on the Cambodian border in 66-67. Know several hard core gun nuts, and everyone scares the shit out of me–they are all a little off in the head. Do not tell me how big a patriot you are, nor do I ask that you carry so that you can protect me. I will depend upon my local police to do that. My biggest fear is getting caught in the middle of a gun fight between a real bad guy and John Q. Public who pulls his heater out. Additionally, don’t tell me about concealed carry background checks and classes. Worthless. And lastly, not one person has ever answered my question–why was Travon Martin automatically labeled the bad guy.

  17. BiLL Says:

Forgot 30 cal MG, M60 mg, 50 Cal mg.

  18. SayUncle Says:

BiLL, nothing you’ve said has been reinforced here except in your tiny brain. And go fuck yourself.

  19. bill Says:

    Temper, temper

  20. SayUncle Says:

No temper at all. A nice calm ‘go fuck yourself’. You’re not worth getting bothered about nor worth worrying about.

  21. bayou man Says:

    I just gotta ask this…..

Bill, do you believe that EVERYONE that is not a LEO who CCWs is a “Walter Mitty”? Seriously?

  22. Chris Says:

My biggest fear is getting caught in the middle of a gun fight between a real bad guy and John Q. Public who pulls his heater out.

I would be more afraid if the police were one one end of that shootout, they typically cant hit the air in front of them without 40 or so rounds.

  23. Robb Allen Says:

My biggest fear is getting caught in the middle of a gun fight between a real bad guy and John Q. Public who pulls his heater out.

Then you’re a coward afraid of the boogey man.

Do you have thousands of stories of shootouts like this between CCW holders and bad guys that take out innocents? You know, proof that this is actually a problem. No?

Then, like Uncle said – go fuck yourself.

  24. thirdpower Says:

DOOT’s law. Using the term ‘heater’ or ‘packing heat’ automatically shows that they know little to nothing about firearms.

  25. Jack Says:

Third, another big tell is Ol’ Bill drawing out the “Don’t you Dare question my Patriotism!” card.

  26. SteveG Says:

Why is it that every time one of these victim disarmament advocates tries to defend their anti-freedom view point they feel they have to drag out their veteran card? So you’ve (allegedly) served, so you’ve (allegedly) fired a lot of weapons. That does not make you qualified to have an authoritative opinion on CCW.

  27. ATLien Says:

Can I get a judgement on using the term “smoke-wagon?”

  28. Robert Says:

I see one of those guys with the imaginary “Cambodian border” vietnam service has wandered in here. If we’d had half as many of them actually there as claim to have been there…

  29. Jay G. Says:

Hey, maybe he was helping Senator Kerry retrieve his magic hat…

  30. SteveG Says:

Just one more thing Bill; I don’t carry to protect you, I will not come running to save your worthless backside if the balloon goes up in your face. I carry to protect me and my own.

My God, it’s a unholy trifecta of Senator Kerry, CRSGV, and a mall ninja!

  32. Rustmeister Says:

BiLL, I don’t carry to protect you, I carry to protect me.

Second, who labelled Trayvon the bad guy? All those protesters carrying around Skittles?

Finally , if you did serve 22 years in the military, and don’t know how quickly and easily things can go south on you, you weren’t paying attention.

Of course, I only did 20 years. Maybe those extra two years is what I’m missing….

  33. Shootin' Buddy Says:

“why was Travon Martin automatically labeled the bad guy”

Because Martin was bouncing the white Hispanic’s cabeza off the concrete and then punching the white Hispanic while Martin was high on illegal drugs, that’s why.

  34. Ambulance Driver Says:

From watching and reading the news, it would seem that George Zimmerman was automatically labeled the bad guy.

I wonder what color the sky is in Bill’s world?

  35. Eileen Says:

How do you justify stereotyping gun owners? Last time I checked, I don’t hate women, blacks, hispanics, democrats, republicans, etc. Although I will admit to thinking that those guys in the saggy jeans look a little ridiculous…

I’m a 50 year old woman, married with 2 kids, and have fairly liberal leanings on most social issues – except guns. I grew up around guns, and inherited quite a few from my father, a retired policeman and hunter. My dad taught me to shoot as a teenager. I have recently gotten back into shooting now that my girls are grown and old enough to be responsible around guns. I enjoy it enough to have purchased additional handguns more suited for competition, and have taught my daughters to shoot. Does that make me a gun nut? How many do you have to own to qualify as a nut? Isn’t the use of that term just an incendiary ploy to sway your argument?

PS: I don’t carry; my state doesn’t allow it at all. I am considering a concealed carry permit from another state, but it is for protection while hiking in those 30+ states that allow reciprocal CCW. It would be awfully comforting to be able to carry while out alone on the trails by my home. Why should it make a difference if I am afraid of boogeyman or coyotes and bears?

  36. Bo Says:

Bull, er I mean Bill, what unit did you serve with in 66-67? For someone who has faced so much danger like yourself, went into conflict always armed, surely you would understand the merits of a firearm to protect ones self over a 9-11 call to police, yes or no?

  37. Timmeehh Says:

I knew he was a poseur when he mentioned the “Swedish K”.

  38. Robert Says:

Bo – Some sooooooper secret unit that has no records of anyone that was in it, I’ll bet.

  39. SBeck Says:

170mm artillery tweaked me. German or North Korean?

  40. Thomas F Says:

    Hey Billy,

Fuck you, fuck you sideways, fuck you, you sorry little ass-hat sack of shit in a skin-suit…..

    No Temper here…..

    Just Fuck you…….

  41. Scott Says:

MACV/SOG of course, Bo. But don’t ask to see a copy of his DD-214. It was Secret Squirrel stuff that wasn’t reflected in his permanent personnel records.

  42. gunnut CEO Says:

ok i will go ahead and say what everyone is thinking

    Bill your full of shit

Your sorry ass has only ever served… Frys at McDs

    Now please fuck off

  43. adam Says:

“I will depend upon my local police to do that.”

Right, because when you need them, they’re only 20 minutes away..

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
