Bank of America Doesn’t Want My Business

Despite the gun industry contributing heavily to the economy, Bank of America is ditching gun clients. Seems that since McMillan is getting more into the gun business than the gun accessories business, BOA doesn’t want to do business with them.

Stupid move from both a financial and PR perspective.

Credit Unions are the way to go for small businesses, and large businesses, anyway. BOA? Chase? Wells? Their business models seem to be to make money by charging every account holder small sums every month for the pleasure of being a customer.

Wouldn’t be the first time BofA has shot itself in the foot.
(Oh, c’mon! You were all thinkin’ it!)

  3. wildbill Says:

Isn’t McMillan the company that uses a known murderer of women and children to promote their products?

  4. TJwyrm Says:

wildbill, you’re thinking of HS Precision

McMillan is a good brand, and in fact, had the opposite reaction in that incident

I don’t understand why anyone is still banking with BOA. It’s like going out for a repeat mugging.

  6. Mike Says:

    What does it matter?

BoA is “too big to fail” — and if recent reports are to be believed, it’s only gotten bigger since the last time it got bailed out.

BoA only needs to keep one customer happy to stay afloat: Uncle Sam. Everyone else can go f**k themselves, as far as they’re concerned.

I’ve still got an account with Bank of America, but I never use it… Time to close it out.

  8. Bob Smith Says:

Who is Bank of America telling people it does not want their business? Who would want to do business with Bank of America?

  9. Bubblehead Les Says:

Uh, doesn’t it seem a little too “Coincidental” that the upcoming Barack Hussein Obama Re-Anointment Ceremony (formerly the Democratic National Convention) is being held at the Bank of America Stadium, in Charlotte, North Carolina, home of Bank of America? Wonder if someone at Bank of America got a call from the White House “encouraging them” to DROP Gun Companies, or they might not get any more “Bail Outs” or other Freebies in the Future?

After all, NBC has put an Obama for President Campaign Office in the lobby of 30 Rock in the past. And then we saw how Honest their news reporting has been (can you say Remington Hit Piece?). And if one wanted to slow down the rapid growth of Gun and Ammo and Gun Accessories Sales, why not cut off Funding to the Gun Companies? That way, one doesn’t have to go through Congress or the Courts. Just use your Cronies to squash it for you.

The same can be said for Wells Fargo. After having had a checking account with WF for 5 months I fully understand why folks like Butch Cassidy and Charles Bowles (AkA Black Bart the Po8)specifically targeted Wells Fargo in their robberies. They must have had a checking account with WF!

  11. slawson Says:

I work for them and I wwould swear that they don’t want any customers who can’t afford to leave $5000 sitting in a checking account earning 0.05 APY and NEVER letting it drop below that. I’m really surprized that everyone doesn’t close their account.

I wonder if BofA services any one or any firm involved in the porn industry…if so, (and I’ll bet they have lots), then the hypocrisy is absolutely stunning.

As a 38 year BofA customer, I’ve got some thinking to do….

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
