Quote of the day

Seen on facebook, via Billy Beck:

If you want a person’s hands and laws off of your body, get your laws and hands out of their pocketbook.

Odd how that works. If you don’t fund someone’s crazy ideas, then they just stay ideas.

    Kismet.

  2. Sebastian Noblog Says:

Yup, because everyone who needs female healthcare is a dirty slut.

    Idiot.

  3. SayUncle Says:

Point, not getting it. The usual. And what the fuck are you talking about?

  4. Robb Allen Says:

He’s not talking, it’s an automatic reaction. Expose leftist stupidity and he’s right there to pull out some sort of talking points.

Either you want the government out of your womb or not. This ‘only putting in the tip’ trick is just that, a trick.

Although, arguing with a progressive is a losing proposition. I say “The government should not force anyone to provide X” but they can only hear “I don’t want X provided at all”.

  5. Sebastian Noblog Says:

The point is pretty obvious: people who get abortion? They shouldn’t have needed it in the first place and they just needed that Santorum brand aspirin. What else does the first sentence mean? Would love to hear the alternate explanation that I’m “missing”.

The second: contraception covered by health insurance is evil socialism that someone else is paying for, which those pesky hospitals (who take Medicare payments to keep their doors open) should get to choose whether they follow the law or not. I gather I’m “missing” something there too right? Feel free to clarify.

Talking points? Talking points? Women’s healthcare is the biggest conservative talking point game going.

Robb: It’s almost like the idea is that only through goverment providence shall something be legitimate.

“Republicans are coming to steal your ladyparts!!!!!!

Meanwhile, I think we should require every employer to buy every employee a gun. Otherwise, you’re being denied the right to bear arms.”

  7. Robb Allen Says:

No, Sebastian, the point is that people love to scream about the government staying off of their cervix, but are more than happy to demand the government force others to pay for contraceptives because they can’t be bothered to.

I was broke, and if I couldn’t find the change under the couch to purchase a pack of Satan’s Weenie Gloves, I didn’t fuck. Period.

When I was unemployed and my wife needed female healthcare…. I PAID FOR IT. I skipped things like cable TV and eating out. Sure, it was $80 a month, but two trips to Chili’s covers that.

And if you’re going to rail on republicans, go find some. Ain’t no R on my voter card, bub. Obama wants to pay for abortions, Santorum wants to ensure you wait until after marriage before doing the Gumby/Pokey. The only difference between the statists is which side of the cervix they are more concerned about.

But you, as the “All hail the mighty government who is the only one who can decide how we should live every last part of our lives (except guns because I like guns)” have NO reason to bitch about Santorum. YOUR kind continue to vote more and more power to the government to make sure people make the right choices, stop fucking complaining when Mr. Jesus gets elected and decides he wants to use all that power in ways you don’t like.

Or be like us and push to not give them the power to begin with.

stop fucking complaining when Mr. Jesus gets elected and decides he wants to use all that power in ways you don’t like.

    This.

  9. Jack Says:

    Seconded.

I’ve got a Canadian friend who complains about all the power abuses that their MP Harper is doing and I pointed out that maybe it wasn’t too wise to give the state all that power.

If your plan for governance relies on having only “the right” people in office who pinky swear to not abuse their vast power (or at least only abuse it in the “right” way), then you’re no better than a monarchist rooting around for a “good king”.

  10. Matthew Carberry Says:

“But, but, my friend’s hormone therapy -requires- those pills…”

Then -she’ll- get them, because that is a medical condition, not a subsidy to make your love life more convenient.

  11. Robb Allen Says:

Yes, the left is experienced in ‘slight of hand’ when it comes to language. We talk about contraception as in “Stop Mr. Sperm from introducing himself to Mrs. Egg” and they like to ‘change’ the concept to ‘women’s health‘ as if the only thing to worry about being healthy on a woman is her fallopian tubes.

It’s dishonest, but that’s to be expected when you cannot remain philosophically consistent (ie. the gov’t has no place in our bedrooms unless Uncle Sam is there to place a condom by the pillow).

No company should be required to provide you with X. If you disagree with that, don’t come bitching to me when the gov’t requires these companies to start providing Chic Tracts with the Trojans because you allowed them the power to do so.

  12. TomcatTCH Says:

(ie. the gov’t has no place in our bedrooms unless Uncle Sam is there to place a condom by the pillow on the penis).

    Fixed that for ya Robb.

  13. CapitalistPig Says:

    Sebastian,

    Pavlov still loves you.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
