Zing: Finally, [Holder] needs to explain how the administration went from wanting to ban assault weapons to supplying them to drug lords.
The WaPo carries that torch and thinks we should learn our lesson and hold hands and have a coke and smile and then we can fix ATF’s problems.
But the AP didn’t get the memo and covers the scandal.
Surprisingly, it came from Bill Maher: Americans love their socialism.
He’s right, they do. With the federal budget just north of 40% of GDP and about 40% of income in this country coming from transfer payments from the government, it’s almost cute to call it capitalism.
Also, gains are privatized. But the big losses are public with bailouts and such. As a matter of policy, we take the worst of all systems. So admit it!
Remember the woman who was arrested when she ‘lashed out’ at the agents fondling her teenage daughter? She goes to court Monday. And there’s this:
Andrea Fornella Abbott, 41, will appear Monday in a Davidson County courtroom to answer to the misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge.
News of her July 10 afternoon arrest was picked up by national media outlets, and prompted hundreds of people from across the country to contact The Tennessean in support of Abbott. Many of them asked how to donate money to her legal fund. Horst, a Nashville-based criminal defense lawyer, is handling her case free of charge.
I hope it gets to a jury and is nullified. But, hey, a lawyer doing it for free must mean something.
Thanks to a Texas gun store employee:
Police in Killeen said their break in the case came from Guns Galore LLC — the same gun store where Maj. Nidal Hasan bought a pistol used in the 2009 attack. Store clerk Greg Ebert said the man arrived by taxi Tuesday and bought 6 pounds of smokeless gunpowder, three boxes of shotgun ammunition and a magazine for a semi-automatic pistol.
Ebert said he called authorities because he and his co-workers “felt uncomfortable with his overall demeanor and the fact he didn’t know what the hell he was buying.”
This is pretty much why I don’t watch a lot of the new shows on TV about guns. I still watch the informational programs. But the reality based shows have too much drama. And I’m not going to like it just because there’s also guns.
PDB has a review of the CrimsonTrace Lightguard. I rather like the idea of light that comes on automatically for my things that go bump in the night house gun.
Despite ATF not having the regulatory authority to do so, they’re sending the forms to FFLs.
Seems the Norway shooter bought his standard capacity magazines from US vendors and they were mailed to him. And, to draw a parallel, they have to lie about it.
Next thing you know, ATF will be smuggling guns there.
Dodging the question of whether the .gov has the authority to collect the geolocation information of American citizens for intelligence purposes
Tracking your movement via your phone.
I admire the sentiment but I think working together is better than taking over. Besides, none of those people could beat, say, Ted Nugent out.
hah: Doesn’t have too many ideas of his own any more, but he’ll tell you about a good idea he just heard.
A discussion. Depends on the definition of metal. I don’t think, for instance, System of a Down is metal.
As part of its ongoing Carry License Compliance and Sunshine Initiative, the Calguns Foundation has filed a lawsuit in Merced County Superior Court challenging Merced County and its Sheriff’s firearm carry licensing policy for violating state law.
Looks like they’re paying $600K to the family of man killed by one of their guns. Seems an employee of theirs (who had a criminal record and a drug addiction) stole a gun then sold it and it was later used in a shooting. Looks to me like Kahr is paying go away money.
It was pretty dumb to make pilots use those horrid holsters. Also dumb is the rules for where they can wear them. It’s even dumber to make them put them in an easily identifiable bag. Why not a bright orange bag with “terrorist, steal me” written on it?
It’s like TSA is trying to destroy the armed pilot program.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
