Desperation

Anti-civil rights Congress critters start petition to urge Obama to veto HR822, national reciprocity for carry permits. Does it mean they don’t have the votes in the Senate to stop it?

That site looks like a credit card and personal information theft site… We promise not to sell your information to porn and spam sites.

  2. Bryan S. Says:

Or, they want to get a nice A rating from the NRA in the next election and be able to stop it at the same time.

  3. Jack Says:

Bryan that would require someone to sign that letter and vote for HR822.

Not saying it can’t happen, but telling the president to veto something you voted for…

  4. mikee Says:

I got my Senator Carolyn McCarthy free NRA bumper sticker already. Edited to make it pro-NRA, it looks good on the lid of my toolbox containing gun cleaning materials.

Senator Lautenberg apparently has no free stuff available on his website.

Nor is there any free stuff on the petition page.

One out of three ain’t bad, but it ain’t good.

Mickey Mouse isn’t going to sign that petition until the free stuff is offered.

  5. Kristopher Says:

Heh. There is a strong outside chance that a veto would get overturned.

If this is the case, you can bet Obama will sign it.

  6. Bryan S. Says:

    Jack,

Like that hasn’t happened before. Vote yes one something to make you look better, knowing full well that it will get turned down later in line.

  7. Bryan S. Says:

Heck, I think thats how Pelosi got a bunch of the Obamacare votes, telling other democrats they could not vote for healthcare because it was unpopular in their districts, knowing it would pass without them.

  8. Old NFO Says:

I think he IS going to have to veto it… And hopefully we CAN get enough folks to overturn the veto!

  9. Ferret Says:

“Hypocritically violating a traditional Republican/conservative value, H.R. 822 would have the federal government override state laws decided at the local level.”

Yeah, only political appointees in created-with-a-magic-wand regulatory agencies are allowed to override state laws decided at the local level, as opposed to elected representatives actually being allowed to vote on it.

  10. comatus Says:

Boy, you fellows sure are cynical about Political Science. How’d that happen?

    I like it.

It’s true: should His Adolescency veto it, that A+ rating from NRA is going to get very expensive. Because then you’d have to vote to overturn. Nobody wants that.

  11. Paul B Says:

I hope it exposes all those in washington for the frauds and charlatans they are.

We need to remove all agencies at the federal level.

That alone is the path back to what we were.

  12. Bryan S. Says:

Only way we could expose them any more is to tattoo it on their heads. Most people couldnt care.

I know this is off topic, but, for some reason, I soooooo wan’t to pet that tiger. And no, not the furry one, with the stripes ‘n stuff.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
