More on that insurrectionist rhetoric

Sebastian:

people like Bloomberg can end up in positions of such power are one of the reasons I think gun ownership is important.

Indeed. Power hungry nannies like Bloomberg are as good a reason as any.

I dunno, I’m not all that scared of Bloomberg’s army.

More: There you have it, militarization of the police from the mouth of NannyBloomberg himself.

It is pretty frightening. Imagine if, say, Governor Rick Perry made a similar claim and what the press would be doing with that.

But you know what the main difference is between someone like Bloomberg and Gov. Ricky? The people that support them. If Bloomberg were to give some sort of ‘orders’ to his army about confiscations, they would likely march lockstep and think it’s a good idea. If Gov. Ricky did something like that, he would find himself with the equivalent of trying to herd cats.

But your main point is very valid. There is a world of difference in the type of press coverage the different sides receive.

Why I’m not worried about Das Bloombergs army.

It says a lot about NYPD’s lack of aiming or NY EMS skills.

You’re right, they would lose the freaking minds.
Oh wait, no they wouldn’t, they don’t have any!

  4. Jeffersonian Says:

I’m not worried about the NYPD. We only have to hold out until their first union mandated coffee break.

I’d like to see NYPD vs. TX DPS, though. That’d be entertainment.

Also imagine the howls if Rick Perry was so ignorant he overestimated the size of his police-force by 10 times.

Or underestimated the size of the US Army by 10 times.

Oh, a Chance-link. Movin’ up in the world.

Thanks Unc. That Bloomberg quote was just such a perfect storm of creepy-fail.

  7. Bobby Says:

Jack’s point here is a pretty big deal. Just a few days ago I saw CNN ranking on and on on Perry for saying the voting age was 21, while obviously improv’ing a speech.

Had he said what King Bloomie said It would give them programming for a week!

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
