The first time I know for sure I was made

Happened this weekend. At a local purveyor of home improvement products and I reached up on a shelf. My shirt came up a bit and exposed my Glock 30. I was made. By two boys about age 10. One kid looks at the other and says Hey, that guy’s carrying a gun. The other kid says That is so cool.

No police. No store security. No upset parents.

Good thing they were children, and capable of dealing with reality, as opposed to, you know, cops in California or something.

Walk into pizza hut to grab my order. Guy comes in behind me yacking on the phone complaining that the service here is slow (because, of course, he is entitled to having his meal in his hand as soon as he walks in the door). As I reach for my wallet, my 4:00 carried G36 gets a small debut. He says to his buddy “I wonder if that guy knows I know he has a gun” to which I reply (without turning around) “Ask me if I give a damn”

Heathen. Probably got a wookie suit in your closet too.

Wookiee is spelled with 2 e’s.

Or, how about coming in to town for lunch after a morning hunt with it right out there on your hip? No open carry here. Oops. Well, that’s the nice thing about country folks, they have a little common sense and not a thing happened. Imagine that.

On several occasions the question has been posed during my Ohio NRA/CCW course, “what if someone sees my gun while carrying concealed?”… to which I reply, “then you don’t understand the concept of concealed”…

I am hopeful that someday guns will lose the stigma that so many in society hold against them when they see a gun carried by… a… law-abiding citizen…

    We are getting there… step-by-step…

As they said, “That is so cool.”

That said, I’m glad that Virginia is so good on open carry. If my concealed becomes “un”, I don’t get in trouble.

  8. Jerry Says:

Just for the info, how were you a ‘totin? I usually run oswb with a cover garment. Not to nitpik, just to discuss.

That’s why we’re all open carry advocates together. I to prefer concealed over open carry…but these things happen, and if this happened to me I could lose my rights.

And here I thought you weren’t made until they pricked your finger.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
