  1. Nancy R. Says:

There were a couple of years during the Clinton administration that I used to spend Independence Day firing that same kind of musket (just powder, no ball, duh) on Constitution Avenue right there in DC while taking part in the 4th of July parade. Even Regan attended the 200th Anniversary of the Battle of Yorktown without any problems, and there were plenty of muskets there. Cannons, too.

Since DC’s laws were overhaul post-heller, I’d be afraid to guess the facts nowadays, but there may be a legally ambiguous area with black powder replica firearms.

I took some friends to a range in VA, and on the way back they wanted to cut through DC. I told them tecnically, federal preemption should make the trip legal, but that probably would not stop them from (if discovered) confiscating the firearms, impounding the car, and jailing everyone before we all were released without charges the next business day.

Antique Muzzle Loaders and replicas of same are specifically excluded from DC’s gun registration laws. This man has a VERY STRONG case for wrongful arrest.

    7-2501.01. Definitions:

    (3) “Antique firearm” means:
    (A) Any firearm (including any firearm with a matchlock, flintlock, percussion cap, or similar type of ignition system) manufactured in or before 1898; and
    (B) Any replica of any firearm described in subparagraph (A) if such replica:
    (i) Is not designed or redesigned for using rim-fire or conventional center-fire fixed ammunition; or
(ii) Uses rim-fire or conventional ammunition which is no longer manufactured in the United States and which is not readily available in the ordinary channels of commercial trade.

Also, remember this come the time some liberal _ucktard tells you the 2nd Amendment only applies to muzzle loaders… and then goes on to say they’re in favor of ‘reasonable restrictions’.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
