Homeland security song and dance

Chuck Schumer proposes ‘no ride’ list for Amtrak.

DHS, no longer content seizing domain names, now goes after software that re-routes folks to the new websites.

Amtrak, like the city bus, doesn’t need any personal information about its customers. I’d like to see a law prohibiting Amtrak from collecting personal information or running any ID checks.

  2. Tam Says:

Someone needs to explain to Chuck that Silver Streak is not actually a documentary, and the odds of anyone crashing a train into a building are vanishingly small.

  3. John Richardson Says:

What makes Schumer think that terrorists would only take Amtrak? Has he never heard of hobo’s hopping a freight train? How many times have we read in the news about a train derailing and a neighborhood evacuated due to hazardous gases leaking from a tank car?

Security for rail yards makes a lot more sense than any sort of “no ride” list.

Bing “Federal Express wreck.” They made it vanish.

Does Markel make a model government?

I would love to see the backlash if DHS seizes the mozilla website… Would be hilarious watching them trip over themselves trying to blame one another..

  6. Jason Says:

Most Americans are on the no-ride Amtrak list. That’s why they lose so much money every year.

  7. Chas Says:

Now he wants to be the Amtrak Nazi. Usually it’s “No gun for you!” with Schumer. Now it’s “No train ride for you!”. I’m starting to think that Schumer is just plain Nazi about everything.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
