Holy crap! Good for the whistleblower.
But I am even more surprised to see this story run on CBS, the notorious network of the Dan Rather standard of bias and inaccuracy. To see anti-gun CBS so effectively torpedo BATFE is truly man bites dog!

No big surprise. David and I made the introductions of both CBS & LA Times to the whistleblowers after they approached us and demonstrated a knowledge of the story and were asking the right questions. Just like we vectored the Grassley and Sessions folks so that the whistleblowers could come in from the cold. Have the emails to prove it. So does David. Not that it takes anything away from the brave agents who first got in touch with us.
The only difficult thing is how you pusillanimous prags are going to explain the facts to yourselves. ATF agents? Trusting extremists Vanderboegh & Codrea? DOGS AND CATS, LIVING TOGETHER, MASS HYSTERIA!

This story reeks of groupthink. I do not know where to begin. I will leave hindsight to the historians and the Congressional investigation. BTW, CBS is following this so closely because they want us to believe that if the Government can’t protect us from the improper sale of guns then maybe no guns should be made to sell.

So, Mike, what you’re saying is that using legal, nonviolent means and talking to people instead of shooting jack-booted thugs (or at least blogging about how people are pansies because they aren’t out shooting federal agents), you were able to get results?
Is that what you’re saying? Because if it is, then someone is owed an apology and it ain’t you.

While I am opposed to the existence of the ATF and advocate toward reducing their authority and power to zero I am very careful when addressing the individuals who work there.
If they say something in public that deserves criticism I call them on it. But I have also had certain ATF employees contact me in private and give me information that if discovered could have been damaging to their career but was very helpful to me and was “the right thing to do”.
ATF employees need to be treated as individuals. Just as gun owners do.

What I’m saying is I was never the cartoon character you prag anal sphincters painted of me, just like I never advocated any of the bullshit you ascribed to me above. The truth is that there are some folks in life who DO while using their real names and others who hide behind anonymity and merely bitch about why they can’t do anything without making somebody mad — and really wish that nobody else would either because it might blow back on them, the poor babies.
“What did you do in the great World War Two?” to quote Patton. In the Project Gunwalker scandal and others starting with David Olofson, you quaking prags shoveled electronic sh-t in the ether. And that goes for the NRA too.
What you still have to figure out is why did ATF street agents trust ME and David enough to help them get the truth out? Why not the NRA? (And I can tell you THAT thought never occurred to them.)
The answer has something to do with intelligent people of principled action versus chicken little bullshit artists who wait for the weather vane to show them which way the wind is blowing.
