A good stiffy

I really hate to see someone with a decent gun but a crappy holster. Never skimp on a holster, most gunnies will tell you that. But one other thing a you shouldn’t skimp on is a good, stiff belt. And, specifically, you should buy one that is made to carry a gun. Trust me, this will save you some headache. That Old Navy belt your wife got you may look nice but it’s not really made to haul a Glock and a couple of magazines around all day. And it will sag.

I like the Hellweg dress belt and the Galco belts. But those are spendy. Blackhawk CQC belts are on closeout at LAPG.

I’ve had a Blackhack CQC belt for about two years now. A few months ago the black faux leather started peeling away from the actual belt where the buckle rubs up against it. It’s a little annoying but it’s still good enough looking for non-office wear.

I’d be buying another one right now at that link if it weren’t for all my holsters being setup for 1.5″ belts.

I just got a Beltman belt for my birthday. It’s pretty sweeeeet.

I’ve got a 5.11 Casual Belt that I’ve been wearing for about two years now.

I’ve got two Beltman belts, and I wear them every day, even when not carrying. They are awesome, and the buckles look nice and unobtrusive, nothing too out there yet not fuddy-duddy old man either.

Bought one, thanks for the tip!

+1 on Beltman: http://www.thebeltman.net I’ve had mine for years and it’s holding up great. The price is much better than most as well.

Maybe its cause I’m in DC, but $80 doesn’t strike me as much for a decent quality leather dress belt.

Man, I should stop reading here, you guys are costing me some money. Oh well, I am getting good stuff. Beltman rawks.

I have two Maxpedition Liger belts, they are all I wear now. They are practically indestructible and look good enough to wear with your BBQ gun.

I do have some wilderness instructor belts for uniform wear, they are just as good at being gun belts, but not as dressy.

Mitch Rosen BHL-T in mahogany. They don’t look like gunbelts. Perfect with jeans or khakis. A bit pricey ($140), but well worth it. Get a matching USD II IWB holster and MBS mag holder. This is my standard carry rig for all of my pistols. I’ve either owned or fondled just about all of the prominent leather makers’ wares, and Mitch’s stuff tops them all. As always, just my opinion.

    Second on the 5.11 belts.

The kydex (or whatever substance they use) stiffener failed in mine about a year back (only at the notch where I keep the buckle), but aside from that, it is still chugging along strong… and at $35, I am not going to complain.

  13. RC Says:

Recently got a belt from Crossbreed, like the Velcro sewn inside the belt option for concealability.

Kydex reinforced contour belts from Comp-Tac. I’ve had mine for almost 2 years, no complaints http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info.php?products_id=43

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
