Whatever happened to hack and fraudster Michael Bellisiles, well he’s a teacher and his students notice a trend:
Useless. The man tries to re-write history so that it agrees with his views. I like history; I don’t like revisionism. I heard he was forced out of his previous institution for some sort of academic fraud.
Well, old habits die hard.

Maybe Columbia University will more carefully scrutinize its Bancroft Award candidates after rushing his award through before the customary 5 year period for peer review and challenge.

The sad part about his little story is that it’s just so gosh darn chock-full of *Narrative* toilet-paper that it overflows the tank.
He’s got the Psycho Broken-Vet/Taxi-Driver syndrome, the Vietnam Echo call-out (Gulf of Tonkin, man!) – it’s got nearly all the cliche-issues ever used.
