Self destruct
With their fate pretty much sealed, it occurs to me that the Democrats may decide again to go for history and push a broad gun control agenda in Congress. They now have nothing to lose.
Could be. But I figure they’re still under the impression this can be saved. Hell, it might even prove to be popular. We’ll see.

I dont hink they will being that the SCOTUS veiws are leaning against them right now. THe gun control effort is sort of rock bottom right now. What I look for is moore along the lines of demonizaion of gun people and possably a false flag attack to use as ammo against gun owners. I also believe(this is my theory) that they will commit a false flag attack to prevent or delay the 2010 elections. If we have the 2010 election they will ALL be out and then they will be doing NOTHING, that being what it is, I think they will pull something that will give them at least hte appearance of being able to postpone or negate the elections. I dont believe in burying your guns, if it is time to bury them, it is time to USE THEM, but a wise individual might want ot put away a LIBERTY gun w/ a few provisions and some ammo so that you will at least have the ability to fight if iit should come to that. and on that note…….BUY MORE AMMO

People said this about Bush II before every election. It didn’t happen then and I don’t think it will happen with the Democrats now. The Democrats are still deluding themselves into thinking they’re working for the greater good. They’re also well aware of the fact that the people who voted for these monstrosities are from the safest districts.

They’ve got bigger fish to fry. Rush, Steyn and Hanson have all been pounding the same drum: amnesty (“comprehensive immigration reform”) is next up. They’re tanking in November anyway, so they’ve got nothing to lose and 30 million votes to gain. After that comes cap-and-trade, entrenching more bureaucrats than gun control ever could.
Gun control might be something they’d like, but they have to know the payoff would be weak compared to their other priorities. And by the time they’ve done everything else and get around to gun control, they’ll face massive non-compliance if they really push it through. However committed they are, I think enough Dems possess enough low animal cunning not to pick that fight.

While I don’t think a “false flag attack” is coming, or that elections would be delayed in any case, it wouldn’t suprise me if they let a few Johnny Jihadi’s through. That way there’s no direct trail back to whoever–they’re just incompetent.
Americans love it when a president opens a can of whoopass. I’m guessing we see some sort of attack here in July, originating in Yemen. Lob a few cruise missles at some empty training camps and Obama’s approval ticks up. People anger at Congress is replaced by the patriotic feelings we saw after 9/11.

Nope on gun control. Next up is the Census and Amnesty, with the goal of cooking the voter registration books ahead of the November elections. Whatever margins Republicans win by, they’ll throw that many +1 fake ballots on the heap.
The biggest MSM stories in Nov 2010 will be how the Democrats didn’t lose, and how many Republicans got arrested assaulting the armed guards stationed at the polls.

They will pass amnesty, and then pass a bill that retroactively counts the 14million illegals as citizens, using that number to add dems to the house.
My guess is they will use “deem-and-pass” on a gun ban that will make the AWB look like it was written by Congress’ kids on “bring your daughters to work day.”
I used to believe in the concept of “political capital,” that these people can only pass so much before the citizens say “enough!” but that all changes when they don’t care about being re-elected.

All good analysis, especially regarding “political capital”.
There is simply insufficient political capital for the (D)onks to do anything more before the election. Somehow, they’re going to have to spin this horror of a health care bill they just passed into something sage and wise, and it ain’t gonna happen, McGee.
The problem is that the taxes are really the only significant thing that kicks in right away, and that’s a downer. In reality, all they have done is pass a giant tax increase, and they have to run for election on THAT.

Right on Paul… no one goes back. A-holes passed a huge pay increase only weeks ago. Nothing will change in Nov… repubs are after all the stupid party. So the crunch comes AFTER Nov. After BAG day, hopefully. Should be a big one.

Don’t fool yourselves, the polls expressing disapproval of obamacare include people who don’t think it goes far enough… The socialists are very good at making sure a small majority relies on them for a free ride… It’s what they do.
Our best option is to go John Galt. The top 50% of taxpayers pay 97% of the income taxes. The econonomically productive are slaves to the lower rungs. If you have a job and pay any taxes, you are paying more than your share. You are susidizing others. And that Is only considering those who actually pay taxes. The liberal world only exists because we produce a surplus. The Takers live by stealing from the Makers. Without our surplus, they starve. Produce only enough for you and yours. Work less. Skip that overtime. Donate your old belongings for a tax deduction. Do everything legally permissible to reduce your tax bill. Starve the beast.
