The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil

But a gun helps too.

In Cleveland, TN:

The sheriff in Bradley County has 10 new special deputies who will have guns at church services they attend to protect the congregations.

[…]

Gobble said “there are those who target churches to vent their frustration and rage over moral and religious issues.” He said church violence is a reality.

The sheriff organized the church deputy program after reading about church attacks around the country, including one in Knoxville.

Some of us are ahead of the curve on this one.

I just hope they have their lawyers already lined up at the churches, in case Johnny Law gets his toes stepped on from the pulpit.

  2. LissaKay Says:

Members of the congregation at our church volunteer for security detail during services, and those who have HCP and wish to carry their hand guns while serving in this capacity do so. The city’s and county’s finest have plenty else to do, and we can take care of our own.

  3. LissaKay Says:

Oops … forgot to add this: Jesus even commands us to go armed: He said to them, “But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one. -Luke 22:36 (ESV)

  4. Kirk Parker Says:

So does Ohio otherwise prohibit the carry of loaded handguns in churches except by Law Enforcement?

Here in the gun-friendly paradise of WA, it’s all legal: open, concealed, you name it–though of course subject to whatever restrictions the churches themselves might choose to make for themselves, there’s no government interference, which is as it should be.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
