The nightmare of holding C&R in NJ is that NJ doesn’t recognize the liscense. The idea is that the State Law supercedes the Federal Law. I had to surrender my collection, worth over 20 thousand due to a list of charges that were all lies. Turns out the only violation I actually had was a high cap mag (no gun for it) which I ended up spending two nights in jail for and 5000 dollar bail. I’m 57, never been in trouble, no record and this destroyed my relationship with my family. False allegations of owning machine guns, making machine guns made a formidable list that resulted in my being rejected by current employers due to a hit on the State felonies list. I don’t know what to do. Had to surrender my state firearms id and my C&R. I had a non functioning PPSH 41, no bolt, no mag and the state lied to the ATF to say they fired the weapon full auto. So, the ATF made me surrender the c&r due to “owning a machine gun.” How could such things happen in this country? I am frightened to think what could be done to my life under false allegations by the State Police in NJ. I think all the lawyers will not be pro active due to fear.
I tell you it is a strange feeling pondering what things could be done. My mind set was, take my guns, take my liscenses just don’t send me to jail! Yet, I had done nothing wrong. This is a blow to 2nd Amendment.
