I feel sorry for the cubs. Couldn’t they have sent them to a zoo or rehab shelter of a sorts? I see stuff like that on Animal Planet–sometimes they are even able to release them back into the wild.
I imagine there being no shortage of black bears the costs of transporting and caring for the cubs is what doomed them. They could have done differently but probably used a cost/benefit analysis to decide it wasn’t worth it. Nature is cruel and two infant cubs would have faced a very cruel future left to their own devices.
I guess we could call this an example of semi-humaness?
